I also found the "ImportError: No module named win32api" with wrye bash 274

my specs:
windows xp
python 2.6
wxPython ansi-2.8.10.1

P.s. wrye bash 271 works fine!

*** EDIT ***

Found the solution. there is a link in the html readme, i will post it here for quick access

http://sourceforge.n...?group_id=78018

download should start automaticly.

It actually doesn't look all that difficult to learn, but it's unnecessarily difficult when we don't get any sort of readme or guide to learn it (all the links to the main guides on wyre's site are dead links). Does anyone know when/if the site will be brought back online, or the information made public again?

I've added a note to the main page since it appears that a fair number of people thought that was the only readme. Did you try looking in the archive to see if there was a readme there? - there is and has been for at least 100 versions... it is 'Mopy/Wrye Bash.html', hope that helps.

Hmm, one major bug to mention : the 272 version (with the .exe installer) worked flawlessly, but since 273, for both versions (manual and .exe) when i click on Wrye Bash Launcher file, nothing happens anymore. And when i install back the 272 version, boom! it works again!

Any fix to that ?

yes, I accidentally left some junk lines (2) that called import on some python 2.6 modules... and calling the import even for 2.6 turned out to be unnecessary... and then I commited with that still in there... sorry about that; new version 275 up (archive up here, uploading slowly the other... dialup).

I have given this file my endorsement.

One bug to report, & some feature requests, if anyone's taking any. First, what seems to be a a bug deselects the Tweak Settings->Max weight of potions with every bash patch rebuild. So it's necessary to check it with every rebuild (annoying).

Feature requests for Bain:
"Rename [archive/project]" right-click command from the installer tab.
"Hide" right-click command from the installer tab.
"Open readme" right-click command from the installer tab.
"Web search" right-click command from the installer tab (to search for title in a general search engine, instead of only the Nexus).
"Uninstall all" right-click command from the installer tab.
"Auto fit" option for the column headers, for window resizing.

Thanks! I know about the max weight potions - but can't see the error... will try and find it again (and I find it irritating too)
Added those requests to my list - I think some should be doable wihtin a week or two.

PacificMorrowind : thanks for the answer and the fix! I'll wait for the .exe version. I was fine with the archive version, but it's true that the self-installing version is a real plus! ^_^

Yea I decided when i started working on this as well that we should add a self installer to the mix because of too many people asking how to install this no matter how many times we have said read the instructions and have add too many people mess up installing so I made the installer to take all the guest work out of it

you already can; go to the saves tab, right click the save you want to import the face too; WB brings up a dialogue for you to select a file to import the face from; it defaults to the saves folder but just browse ot your oblivion/data folder and select the esp you want will work.

@@albertovizoso:
Wrye is almost fully offline right now and I don't have a copy of his combat fumbling mod - I'll PM him and see if he can upload it or send to it mo to upload.

IOW, my only beef with this program:

There should be a BIG RED SHINY CANDYLIKE BUTTON at the top of the screen that says "REBUILD BASHED PATCH.ESP", instead of hiding the main feature (for a mod-player) inside a rightclick context menu.

Then I bet more people would use the program. And less people would think bad things about coders.

Installation/Warning! Wrye Bash is rather complicated. If you figure that you'll just download it, double click the pretty exe file, and figure it out, you will FAIL! (Because there is no exe file, pretty or otherwise.) You should at least read the Installation Instructions in order to install and run Wrye Bash. And after that, you're likely to be very lost if you don't at least skim over the readme. Bash has a lot of features, it's easy to get lost in them, so... Use the readme. (PS: Use the HTML version of the readme!)
