Thank you for the update.  I'd just like to add my thanks for all the work you do for this site.  It's a great resource, but people are more important. We can be patient--after all, anyone who's even had a bit of experience with modding has had a few lessons in patience!  You do what you need to do and when you need to do it, and we'll support and understand.

Alright, I'm glad to know what it was that was happening, and glad from some reasurance that it will be taken care of. But as it is, I have an issue that stems from it? when I do choose to use NMM offline, it's only happened recently, all my mods in the load order are unchecked, and even when I do check them and start up Skyrim, most, nearly all of them are not functioning. SO I just have a question as to how to resolve it, or if it will be resolved itself when the servers are back up? Thanks for your hard work!

I appreciate all you guys have done for keeping a modding community so well structured for so long, and too bad bethesda doesn't help you guys with your immense overhead. Perhaps you can create an admin post to lessen the amount of stuff you have from those that have created mods to reduce the enormous about of mods you do harbour. I've would with servers sometimes less is better than more. At any rate good luck, databases are a Bi%$H if they don't work right :(

Thank you for the update and keep up the good work. Users shouldnt underestimate the amount of time and effort that it costs in order to maintain the Nexus. But when you get this big with a huge amount of users its always unfortunate to see that some people start to really treat something as a service and they seem to forget that its also still human. I for one am glad that there is such a site as Nexus as I do download a ridicilous amount of mods weekly so for that I thank you. I hope support from users that do appreciate this site will give you guys a morale boost for the coming days.

Seriously, the hacking is never going to stop as long as you are a popular website. Having run a few fairly popular sites just the fact that you exist are enough reason for them to never stop attacking you. Take all in stride and thank the heavens that you have it semi-under control. You and your team are doing an amazing job especially keeping it mostly in house like you are. You have my total respect and appreciation. :)

In response to post #8230650. #8230798 is also a reply to the same post.

Lol no problem. And I know it seems daunting at first but trust me its not difficult at all. But thats what I'm saying perhaps people should take a little more time and work on our end to figure out how to manually do these things so the servers do not have to. At least temporarily. Im not sure about other games, but I know skyrim is extremely easy to manually install for. You should try modding just cause 2 lol. That game does not even have a dev kit for us to easily compile data. All the stuff you have to do manually with second hand user produced tools. Besthesda gave us a tool kit and its pretty much a drag and drop installation right into the data folder and checking in via the skyrim launcher and that's it. Like I said it may make installing mods easier but whats the point if it becomes difficult to comment on, research, and even see those mods? And as for losing your stuff. Ive been there friend. I caught a nasty virus and had to re install windows, lost everything I had done for skyrim took me pretty much 3 days straight to get everything back to normal. Now I back up everything once a week. lol Just saying this is the most amazing modding website I've ever seen and if people need to do a little extra work on their end to help it along...they should

For what it is worth, you (Dark0ne) and everyone else involved with maintaining the site (that includes the mod authors) has my gratitude. That is all I can give. Thank you.

I appreciate the response. I know I messaged you a few days ago when I absolutely couldn't use the site at all (not even manual downloads were working correctly in some instances).

Good to know you're on it :)

Thanks for the honest update Robin, Personally I think you should bite the bullet and push people to become supporters, it was 1 pound if i recall correctly, I dont mean that nonpaying users should not be able to access the site but that you should decrease their access/service level even more. Maybe even make NMM a supporter only service and manual for nonpaying members? With real money you could do an awful lot to fix these things that are obviously causing you a fair bit of stress. I know you dont want to do this, but maybe its time for some hard choices ?
