Hamin
Hello When I load my save, the game CTD as soon as the loading screen finishes. Roughly every 5th time I try to load the save, the game actually loads and doesn't crash. This happens with a new game as well.Papyrus log when the game crashes: http://pastebin.com/7K0wHV9SPapyrus log when the game does not crash: http://pastebin.com/BJj8Uwsj This is my current list of mods (with the load order): http://pastebin.com/edw3kDVr I used BOSS to make the load order, and Tes5Edit to create the merged patch. (it crashes without the merged patch too) Is this some kind of a compatibility issue, or wrong load order?
Gamio
Hi! Make sure you are also cleaning your mods via TES5Edit, a tutorial can be found at http://www.creationkit.com/TES5Edit_Mod_Cleaning_Tutorial . I like using WyreBash along with BOSS for sorting my load-order making sure everything loads as it should. Also make sure you don't deactivate any mods while loading a save that you used it on... The save will be looking for the deactivated mod and things can get buggy. I have the latest S.T.E.P. installed with a few extra mods as well (around 90 mods), and my game would CTD very often, sometimes randomly... sometimes when entering a new cell or fast traveling. I HIGHLY recommend downloading and installing"Razor IOBIT Gamebooster", it basicly shuts down all uneeded processes so Skyrim can run smoother. Since I started using gamebooster, my game is very stable and only CTDs every once in a great while. Skyrim is just a buggy game, and I'v learned you gotta do everything you can to make sure it has the smoothest running atmosphere possible. I also didn't look at your mod list, I'm not sure which mods are incompatible or have alot of bugs but try and limit mods that use heavy scripts.I hope this helps! Hamin
I cleaned all mods that needed cleaning according to BOSS, and I used Tes5Edit's merged patch instead of Wrye Bash I don't think the gamebooster will help a lot, since the crashes only occurs when loading a save, it almost never crashes during normal play (except a few times where I have absolutely no idea why, probably related to this). Also my computer is enough to run the game without using the gamebooster, I think. Thanks for the reply anyway.
Gamio
Hmm... As far as the save game crash, unless its related to a missing/required mod then the only thing I can think of is maybe the save could be corrupt. And as far as gamebooster, I just recently built a monster gaming rig, the gamebooster just shuts down uneeded processes because skyrim can CTD simply just by programs switching variables and whatnot during gameplay (think anti-virus/spyware programs and updates for example), though I realize it may not help everyone... I certaintly don't have the save game CTD. I too had massive mod issues resulting in CTDs and it seemed hopeless really, but where theres a will theres a way... its just a matter of finding the way. And in a game as big as Skyrim the variables are massive as to what causes CTD for different people. But if your having save game issues with vanilla Skyrim then I'm really not too sure. Sorry I couldn't be of more help... all I know is what worked for me - fresh vanilla install of skyrim, all dlc install, hd texture pack, official/unofficial patches including hd texture patch --- then full S.T.E.P. install to the T --- then a few extra mods that are well known. I dunno if your familiar with STEP, but its a 3-6 hour process depending if you have the mods on your system already. That is all I could recommend. Good luck to you! If I come across some useful info I will share it ASAP. Edited June 15, 2013 by Gamio
Jeir
Try posting your BOSS log, including any messages/warnings, instead of just the load order. Have you tried deleting your Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini? Doing so, then relaunching the game with the normal launcher (I normally use the SKSE one) to re-do the settings, (then any .ini edits I needed to do) fixed the CTD issues I had recently. Hamin
I tried using the default Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini, but the game still crashed. Hamin
I did everything that you have asked, except updating "Duel - Combat Realism" since the new version is for "hardcore" users, and I don't think I want my game any harder than it is now. I downloaded the JSwords from the link you gave me, but it still throws the same warning. The game still crashes on load too.
prod80
Game crashes on any load? Also old saves? Can you check... your sentence "Roughly every 5th time I try to load the save, the game actually loads and doesn't crash." strongly suggests a problem with an animation mod. You have a lot of animations going on I see in your load order... but you cannot unload those easily if you cannot open your save. Try and verify that by opening older saves, and while youre at it, try and start a new game to see if your game is stable in a fresh start. From there we can try and see if we can repair the save by using some cleaner tools to (hopefully) restore your save game. Or when successfully opening you can follow the procedures of your animation mods to uninstall them properly to bring stuff back in a working order before you start adding them carefully again (if you really need them) edit:Can also be that your Papyrus settings are too short for your animations to have enough time... can you post the [Papyrus] settings from your Skyrim.ini ? Hamin
The game will crash on loading any save that I have, that also includes if I make a new game, save, exit and try to load it. Sometimes it will load, most of the time it won't. If by stable, you mean it doesn't crash during normal gameplay; I made a new game and walked from Helgen to Riften, occasionally running upon a wolf or something and the game did not crash once Edited June 16, 2013 by Hamin
