For the most part, you will get monetary rewards for Guild quests, much like in Hlaalu. There will be several quests, especially those given by Aengoth the Jeweler in Ald'Ruhn where he simply tips you off to locations of some very nice items, and you are given the option of keeping them or selling them for money.
You get Reputation boosts by doing the Bal Molagmer quests, given from Jim Stacey. Stacey also gives you a one-of-a-kind artifact after you become Master Thief and he retires.

yes, that item is certainly very useful, especially if you do the main quest after completing the thieves guild missions, that item comes in quite handy for one of the quests. Tel Fyr comes to mind.....
also, the last mission (which is optional, make sure you talk to Dirty Muriel after she says there are no more missions for you.) for the Sadrith Mora thieves guild gets you a very nice staff.
while in Ald-ruhn you get some very nice darts, which you have the option to keep or sell to Aengoth. if your marksmanship is high, it is worth saving them.
