now u see its guilt trips like THAT that made me stop downloading games :lol:Veil not your vices in virtuous words.
Piracy is stealing. Calling it "sharing" does not change that. It doesn't matter how many or how few people lose however much money or anything else. If you have to ask yourself "Is this piracy?" "Am I doing something wrong?" there's a reason... because you know you are. We never have to ask ourselves if we're doing the right thing when we know we are.
If you pirate software, you are stealing. Do it if you want, but don't try to color it something it's not.

If you read the agreements in the start of install of ANY game youŽll see that coping and lending is prohibited and therefore punishable by law.I don't burn them I just let him BORROW it.Just so you know - if you "share" your game with another person and he is caught, and you're found to be the owner, you'll both be prosecuted.

Ahahah yes yes thank you Mr. Spanish Inquisition.Piracy is stealing. Calling it "sharing" does not change that. It doesn't matter how many or how few people lose however much money or anything else. If you have to ask yourself "Is this piracy?" "Am I doing something wrong?" there's a reason... because you know you are. This is a fictional story of SHARING. My friend has a game that I like, and I have a game he likes. My friend has a burner but i trust my friend so we borrow aka. share each others games. If he burns my game and I don't find out thats his problem and if I find out that he burned my game I'll tell him thats it's illegal and tell him why. If he doesn't give me the burned copy so I can destroy it I'll tell the company that makes the game.
And turning a blind eye doesn't solve anything, as Dark0ne said, in the extremely unlikely event that you are caught, both of you would be prosecuted.

Eh? Just plain lending, like to a friend for a few days to play with, no burning whatsoever, is bad too? WTF?If you read the agreements in the start of install of ANY game youŽll see that coping and lending is prohibited and therefore punishable by law.
Someone better haul my arse to jail now, I've lent and borrowed books, movies, cd's, games (actually, I've never borrowed a game), etc etc. (all were returned uncopied btw) Good Lord. ~_~

what he said... the main reason theres all this hype about piracy is because companies are worried about losing a few hundred precious dollars per multi-million film/game they make.Doesnt it say that at the beginning of movies too? There's nothing wrong with borrowing. I do it all the time and therefore have bought more games/movies/cd's. The dude that borrows games and then burns them is just stupid....1 for doing it, and 2 for not knowing how to keep it a secret. But reality check people, a lot of people pirate music/movies/games/software on a daily basis...either for personal use or for profit. But like i said before, piracy has its pros and cons. As long as the number of pirating things stays low, there isnt that much threat to the companies. But i could always be wrong....

I still buy a lot of games, I just like to have a manual, and games like Morrowind are absolutely worth it. However, last year there were a lot of poo games I just wished I DLed instead of wasted my cash on. After Age of Mythology I swore never to pay for a Microsux product again. What an utter rip-off!
As for music, I don't really listen to much music, but I never really buy any CDs. They are 20 Euro's here! No, I am NOT going to spend that kind of money on music! 5 Euro's, thats max! Same with DVDs, damn expensive, and besides, who is going to buy that when you get the DivX before the movie hits the cinemas?
