Just trying to get dark souls up to modern PC game standards, but I am not well acquainted with manually modding games because I use a mod manager. After watching your video, I figured that I should unzip this firle and put it in my tex_override file, but I cannot seem to unzip it. What exactly am I doing wrong? Thanks for making this mod BTW, dark souls is a great game that really needs proper PC support, like this.

Hi, are you using a zip program like 7-zip to unzip the package? Be sure to open the pack with a zip software and extract the contents of the folders ( not the folders themselfs ) into the tex_override folder. I put the files in named folders so in-case someone gets stuttering they can know what files are what and where and can delete some to eliminate stuttering.

Great retexture. Just to clarify though, there is no need to download Neoshroomish's retextures since this includes a version of them right?

Hi, correct - i only used a few of his textures in blighttown and sens fortress but they have been massively overhauled to look decayed and aged. His originals were very clean looking ( which i think is what he was going for ) but i have made them look aged and decayed.

Toology86, thanks for your hard work, much appreciated! I endorsed your mod.
I am playing the game on my laptop (Lenovo Y580), which is unfortunately not powerful enough, so I am getting stuttering in some areas.
Specifically, when I enter New Londo Ruins from Firelink Shrine, right after exiting the elevator and getting down the staircase, my frame rate drops from 30 to ~7 to ~15 and then back up. So the game kinda hangs there for about a second or so. Farming each of the darkwraiths, after getting close to the one nearest to Valley of the Drakes, I get another frame rate drop, also from 30 to ~7 to ~15 and then back up. Backtracking towards the Four Kings, I get stuttering again in the shallow pool of water and again when I face the staircase up towards the room with the second Mass of Souls.
Could you tell me which are the .dds textures for New Londo Ruines? I'd like to remove them as I consistently stutter in that area. Thanks!
P.S. Just a suggestion, when you release Version 3 of your mod, it may be better if you put files from each area in a separate folder instead of combined like right now. That way people can identify which texture files are from which area and remove accordingly if needed.
