I'm very new to the game. I just bought Morrowind original and all the two expansions and installed all of them. When I played a game, I equipped the dagger at the first place of releasing. Then I can't complete any quest, because my attack doesn't take effect on little animal like fish or rats at all, it's so frustrating since I think I learn how to fight already. Anybody please help me on this. Appreciate.

First of all - is the dagger actually equipped or just sitting in your inventory? And did you press 'f' to go into combat mode?

Second - how effective your attack with the dagger is depends on your shortblade skill. If you haven't selected short blade as a major or minor skill you won't do much damage with the dagger.

Also - check the damage rating of the dagger - this also contributes to how damage each attack does.

The more you fight though, the quicker your skill will go up.

Try finding a weapon to suit your best combat skill - or if you have high destruction skill, try killing the creatures with magic.

You'll soon increase your skills

I'm a dark Elf and warior class. I shouldn't have problem with using dagger and I'm sure I have equiped it right and be on F mode. Still, I can't damage any creature. Any suggestion?

the warrior class doesnt use shortblades. i suggest going 2 arrille's tradehouse and buying a long blade weapon
