My sentiments exactly, just not as concisly nor elequantly put.Bla bla, mainstream sux, mainstream doesn't, back and forth. can't a compant try to make it self better? Besides we all know we are all gonna buy it anyways. Can't people get excited about new games, everybody's gotta pregnant-dog about it.of course everyone gets excited whe nthey first hear it but them the longer they wait the more they start regurgitating reasons why its gonna suck,so pessimistic.I think its going to be great ok, they made arena, daggerfall, morrowind, which ar eall very popular, thye decided to make fallout, i think bethesda knows what there doing and will deliver like they usually do. Well, theres my rant...

From what I've read thus far, I doubt I will for some time after it comes out. If it ever looks to me as if the modding community has managed to create enough mods for it to somehow turn into an RPG, then I will likely buy it. Until then, there's precious little reason for me to...... I'm just too damned old to try and master some twitch based Doom-with-swords-wannabe action game complete with beat the beaver mini-games, and wouldn't enjoy it if I tried.

Who are trying to make it self better? Not Bethesda, that's for sure! To try and reach the mainstream gamer is certainly not the same as trying to be better! Probably - and of course I don't know this for sure - they're only making the game shorter and more shoot'em-like to please the average gamer. This is what I call f**** your fanbase, not trying to improve. And all this "you know you gonna buy it anyway" is, to me, a very strange argument. First of all, that is NO reason to make the game mainstream, shorten it and what have you. Second, I'm positive that many players aren't going to buy it because of this.Bla bla, mainstream sux, mainstream doesn't, back and forth. can't a compant try to make it self better? No, I was making fun of them for saying that they think it sucks. its not an argument at all, just being stupid...Who are trying to make it self better? Not Bethesda, that's for sure! Anyway, the way I see it, if you dont buy it, at least rent it once it comes out. But dont be like me and rent it four times, to the point where you could have bought one for the same ammount... I feel like a dope for doing that with Morrowind

more shoot'em-like to please the average gamer

All this to try and appease the mythical mainstream consumer. Morrowind sold how many copies? How many copies of Tribunal and Bloodmoon? Or GOTY? But that isn't mainstream enough, now we turn into a hack n' slash? Bah.
