That works then? Brilliant! A few people have asked about this problem but I was never sure exactly what was causing it. I'll add the instructions to the readme next release, and put a link to this post in the mod description.

You, sir, are awesome!

Thank you, it is pleasure to help other fellow gamers! :)

And please keep up a work on nTex, as i've noticed from EW - new weapons use original icons (ex. Railgun and Flamethrower) and don't fit the style of those that are modded. Do you plan to change them later?

Yes, they'll form part of a future release at some point. I plan to keep going until all the stuff added by EW is done as well as one or two small bits I managed to miss from the original game. I just don't have a huge amount of time to work on it apart from at the weekends so that's when new versions tend to get released :)

You may need to work on the Muscle Fiber Density one. I know the plus sign is supposed to stand for enhancement. But it looks kinda confusing next to the bone marrow one, where the cross stands for healing. I also dont like the vanilla icon with the clock. Since reduced recovery time was more of an added benefit rather than the point IMO.

Dear author, this mod is great, i loved those icons from the 1st sight! But is it possible to save my native language? As i've already started the game on Russian and after making all installations and launching XCOM-EW game with ur mod through Texmod - i am having English language ingame and there're no my saves that are on another language... I need any solutions if possible, would like to play with this mod and others so much!

P.S>Update! Ok, so i've figured this out, just needed to change Localization in some *.ini files, looks like it works =)

Hello,

I have the same problem that you, I play in French and as soon as I pass by Textmod it passes the English game to me!!!

Can you tell me which .ini you has to change and your manipulation of starting of textmod for XCOM EW

thank you

Sure. Here it is!

1. In the My Documents folder, look for My Games:
-C: \ Users \ Name \ Documents \ My Games \ XCOM - Enemy Unknown \ XComGame \ Config \
-To the file XComEngine.ini find line:
Language = INT
-And change it to:
Language = RUS
or
Language = DEU
or
Language = ESN
or
Language = FRA
or
Language = ITA
or
Language = JPN
or
Language = KOR
or
Language = POL
File Save Close

2. Open
-C: \ Games \ XCOM Enemy Unknown \ XComGame \ Config \ DefaultEngine.ini
-Find the section [Engine.Engine]
Next, find the line:
Language = INT
-And change it to:
Language = RUS
or
Language = DEU
or
Language = ESN
or
Language = FRA
or
Language = ITA
or
Language = JPN
or
Language = KOR
or
Language = POL
File Save Close

3. Open
-C:\Games\XCOM Enemy Unknown\Engine\Config\BaseEngine.ini
-Find the section [Engine.Engine]
Next, find the line:
Language = INT
-And change it to:
Language = RUS
or
Language = DEU
or
Language = ESN
or
Language = FRA
or
Language = ITA
or
Language = JPN
or
Language = KOR
or
Language = POL
File Save Close

Original tip is here: http://gamium-faq.bl...-to-change.html

Super thank you of the manipulation.
I will test and see whether that functions for me.

On the other hand when I click on my short cut XCOMEW, it launches me the launcher and there I must choose is:

Xcom enemy or Xcom EW.

How this to be used as Texmod?
To replace XcomEW.exe by Textmod and to pass Xcom EW.exe in XcomEW1.

Thank you for your solutions.

Yeah I'm not keen on those two either. I tried having two leg muscles, one thin and one broad, with an arrow between them for Fiber Density but they just ended up too small for you to actually see what they were. I'll have to have a think about both of them, they're tricky ones to describe with icons that's for sure. I can see why the Devs went with the leaping stick figure for Fiber Density but I personally hate that.

To use TexMod with EW you need to replace XCOMLauncher.exe with the TexMod program, so that you don't get that launcher when you start the game. So:

- Rename XCOMLauncher.exe to something else.
- Copy TexMod.exe into that directory.
- Rename TexMod.exe to XCOMLauncher.exe.
- Run game from your shortcut icon as normal.

Then when TexMod pops up you select XComEW.exe as the target application.

Ahh, glad you figured out what was causing the issue!

TexMod will sort-of remember the last .exe you selected in that it'll be at the top of the list when you click the icon to select the target program. Same with it remembering the last five package files you used. Unfortunately that's as good as it gets and I've yet to come across a way of automating it. There was some work done on a replacement program for TexMod but it didn't seem to get anywhere, or at least hadn't last time I checked a couple of months ago when it had been basically dormant for over a year.

Small comfort but you do kinda get used to it. I tend to "unpack" anyone elses TexMod files I want to use and repackage them as one big file when I come across something else to save on selecting multiple files at startup.

Hi Neonin

Great textures!  Can you pls explain how you "unpack TexMod files and repackage them"?  I'm sick and tired of clicking on and selecting a bunch of files each time.

BTW, have you come across "TexMod AutoLoad" (hxxp://www.tombraiderforums.com/showthread.php?t=172366).  Will this work for XCOM under Steam?

Regards,

Yeah, I use a program I found called TPFExtractor. It unpacks TPF files, including the TexMod.log used to create the file in the first place. Then I just unpack the ones I want to put together, copy/paste everything into one single TexMod.log file, then repack it. Fair warning though, if you do this with nTex you're going to get around 200+ files just from this mod ;)

I've never come across that AutoLoad thing, I'll have to check it out!

Quick note, there probably won't be a new version released this weekend as the run-up to xmas is a bit crazy at college and I have loads to do. However, once it finishes on thursday I've got the holidays to work on the mod, so I'll be looking to pump out stuff as quickly as possible to make up for it!
