Version 1.2 released!

Another quick update to add in a couple of missing icons, namely Head Down and Drone Hacking. Head Down uses the same icon as Hunker Down, since they're almost exactly the same thing and the iconography fits for both. I've also added new images for the civilian counter during Terror missions (the thing at the top with Remaining/Saved/Killed) of which a screenshot can be found in the image gallery!

The Warspace-compatible version was updated too, and I also added in the pistol ammo graphics for the normal and plasma pistols since Warspace gives them both ammo. This means if you're using this version you don't need the optional file "Pistol Ammo for nTex".

Enjoy!

I'm glad you're still enjoying the mod :)

Coming up in the next version is a slightly redone rank insignia, as I always felt the Major and Colonel ones deviated too far from the progression seen in the other ranks. I think the new ones fit much better.

I've been pondering whether to try adding textures to the class ability icons to make them stand out visually even more. So far my testing has given me this:

Personally I like them, but I'm interested to see what you all think. So, new textures or old plain gradient? Answers on a postcard!

The Tex look pretty good, I think it looks better this way.
P.S. Enemy Within is coming, you're going to have a lot of work to do. : -D

Version 1.3 & Long War Compatibility!

Version 1.3 of the normal and Warspace mods is only a minor update to change the rank insignia of Captain, Major and Colonel so it flows a bit more logically.

However, the big update here is the release of a version compatible with the excellent Long War mod! Seriously, if you haven't tried it yet, go download it right now! So many great changes that most people thought wouldn't be possible that make the game much more like what I personally would have hoped the vanilla game would be like. As Long War mixes up the perks considerably, I've gone with a unified colour scheme for this release. There's a screenshot of the new class icons (Long War has EIGHT classes) and the Abilities screen in the Images section.

One minor bug note: The perk icon for Lock n Load uses the Rifle Suppression image. That's set by the mod authors and I can't change one without changing the other.

The Long War version is compatible with the vanilla game if you like the unified colour scheme rather than the default used in the normal nTex mod, just load it up instead. You will get the new class icons which don't fit the classes of vanilla very well, but if there's interest I can release a small extra file to replace them with the ones from normal nTex!

Also if you'd like a say in the future of nTex, check the other stickied post here and leave your feedback.

A quick note on the Enemy Within expansion announced today: I'll be all over it ;)

Nitpicking time yet again! The combat stim icon depicts a bottle of pills despite the fact that combat stim uses an injection. Can you change the icon to a syringe please?

In response to post #8867586.

That was actually deliberate, because at the time I was doing it I couldn't find a syringe image that scaled down to those sizes and was still recognisable! Having never used the things I didn't realise the soldier actually injected themselves too lol. I think I may have found one now though, so I'll update it with v1.4 :)
