So.. Just reinstalled skyrim 5 days ago (last played Febuary 2012) and was overwhelmed by the amount of new/updated mods on skyrim nexus. Me being the type of "spends more time searching and installing mod rather than playing the game" wasted a lot of time tweaking here and there; reading mod descriptions. After installing 60+ mods i decided to check ApachiiSkyHair and disable the hair types that i dont want to use using Creation Kit. I've never used creation kit before and have only little knowledge about it. When I installed Creation Kit it placed a lot of file inside my skyrim folder and overwite some files including SKSE script files. That made me anxious (I'm quite OC) so i checked all my files, ran wrye bash and boss, started a new game to see if it will work and checked if SKSE is working. Everything seems to be working, but its still driving me nuts. So i decided to uninstall all mods and uninstall skyrim for a fresh start. When will be the best time to install Creation Kit so it wont overwrite stuff? After installing skyrim? After DLC's??? Is the overwiting even an issue that will cause problems?
