Hey guys. As there AREN'T any Chimer left in Tamriel (at least according to all those prior Elder Scrolls games, if memory serves), the point is moot unless the Nerevarine is some sort of throwback mutant.
Chimer probably looked like Altmer; just look at Vivec and Almalexia for proof of that. If the Nerevarine IS a throwback, perhaps his/her being "of uncertain parantage" is a reference to golden skin?
The closest other alternative to a renewal of the Chimer line (a cool idea) is therefore to simply play an Altmer; THAT probably wouldn't go over well with the Dunmer, tho.
Actually was working on a Chimer mod fer m'self. Some suggestions for all who pursue this course:
Nerevar was a city boy, but originally weilded an axe (a rather "barbarian" weapon usually) almost exclusively; I presume this was a cultural bias towards the Axe skill (and likely a sign of high-ish strength scores).
Chimer should be less physically fragile than Altmer, as they were far more warlike than the High Elves. The Chimer kicked a *lot* of butt. Also, nobles are usually warriors, and I seem to recall that one of Vivec's sermons mentined that Chi meant noble or royal, so Chimer likley means Noble or Royal Elves. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on this.
Chimer were Daedra-lovers, and probably had starting bonuses in relation to conjuration scores (similar to Melibonean binding-oaths towards Chaos, beast, and elemental lords), and/or to simply conjuring specific Daedric critters, such as scamps.
Chimer do not seem to have been portrayed as being big-time enchanters, that seems to have been a more Dwemer thing.
In other ways, they should have SOME things in common with Dunmer.
OFF TOPIC (sort of):
In reference to all the Drow appearance comments in this post, here's how *Drow* (and only Drow, not Dunmer) are SUPPOSED to look (according to their *creator* Gary Gygax's original vision). . .
JET BLACK skin (not Smurf-blue or corpse-grey as so many artists think). Facial features are sharp. Ears are large. Eyes are large, and are ALL IRIS AND PUPIL(no whites).
Females are slender and shapely, around 5 1/2 ft tall, have "glossy black" skin and "shining silvery hair" with amber or (rarely) "lambent violet" eyes.
Males are thin, around 5 ft in height, have "dead black" skin, "dead white" hair and orange to orange-yellow eyes.
Females are stronger, faster, and just plain better than males.
OFF-OFF-TOPIC:
As to all those artists showing Drizzt as having paired scimitars: THEY AREN'T PAIRED! They are completely unrelated weapons (that have diferent magical abilites) which he picked up along the way, and you can't modify magic items in D&D or they get destroyed, so they will always look different from each other..
Hasta, all!
