A preliminary FO3 version will probably be released a few days after FOSE 2 comes out. FOSE 1 does not yet support plugin dlls, so can't use this yet. Full FO3 support should be available a few weeks after preliminary support, though the options supported on FO3 will be slightly different from those supported on OB.

I have a duo core. I emailed bethesda once and they told me to set affinity to 1 core. Will this mod enable Oblivion to use both?? Cool idea..I hope it works.... 10 :)

Oblivion can already use both, though it doesn't use more than 1 very much of the time. This plugin can increase the amount of time oblivion spends using multiple cores, but it still won't be a lot.

I do not know why Bethesda would tell you to set affinity to any particular core. Certainly Oblivion does not normally run with its process affinity set like that.

This is honestly the best mod EVER for Oblivion. I have been playing for years with horrible stuttering when outside every 5 minutes. It was driving me crazy, to the point to when i didn't even feel like playing. This mod COMPLETELY got rid of the stutter. I mean, I have absolutely no stutter when i am traveling outside. Loading is perfect, everything runs perfect. I nominated this file for file of the month. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS MOD!!!!!!!!

Make sure you have "Shadows on Grass" Turned off, causes slow downs in med/big fights.

I have given this file a rating of 10

Incredible. Bethesda should employ you. I urge everyone to use this mod. By far and away the most effective performance enhancing mod I have ever used in 3 years of playing Oblivion. Along with using crash prevention and fast quit obse plugins, my game has never looked or run so good. Was going to get a new computer to play Oblivion on but this has made that unecessary. Has to be seen to be believed. Thank you.

I'm using an alpha version from the official forum thread, along with the iheap ini tweak, and I advise everyone to do the same. Was using the beta from here but the alpha along with the iheap setting takes it to another level.

this is great. makes riding a horse in the outdoors bearable at last !

one request. I use better cities and in the merchant quarter my fps goes down to 8 in some places. With the stutter fix active this means i go into super slow mode. when i disable the stutter fix the slow mode vanishes and i can enter the merchant quarter again. (painfully at 14-8 fps but i still do it)

so can you make an option where the min fps check is disabled when in a city ? as the stutter is only really a problem in the outdoors.

thanks

This file would have been in official patch.
This is the best in my given mods.

I will introduce this to my country community site of oblivion.

this will be the best solution of oblivion performance in my site

and I must reveal where is from.

This mod is absolutely AMAZING!

First some info:
I have a 9800GT nvidia vid card
4400+ dual core AMD
and Vista with sp 1

Before this mod I had stutters all the darn time. Nasty ones. Some would crash the game or out right freeze it up. I reduced the game resolution recently to 800x600 in an attempt to increase performance as well as lower the video settings ingame and in the nvidia control panel. My FPS was erratic and not stable at all. Sometimes I'd run around with 20-25 fps which was rare, other times it would plummet into the single digits. All together, a frustrating gaming experience and testament to Beth's outstanding and very optimized game engine...

After installing this mod and configuring it, not only has the stuttering greatly reduced and became much more "smoother" feeling, my fps are very stable. Actually, my fps stays at ALL times regardless of where I am between 25-30 which in itself is just awesome. BUT! I've also been able to up my video settings quite a bit. I turned HDR back on, Anisotropic at x8 and AA at x8 and I still have between 25-30 fps.

Without a doubt, this is the best 'performance' mod I have ever found. Everyone should be using it and I'm surprised it isn't more well known or file of the month permanently.

(However, I didn't endorse the file because I used the alpha from the forum thread. Someone linked to in the last page. I guess skyranger has vanished for a while now? Here's hoping he comes back to update the nexus page.)
