Unofficial Patch crashes my game...

I can confirm the unofficial patch causes a lot of CTD, and Freezes. How do I know? I troubleshooted for 5 days straight on my Skyrim trying to figure out why it kept CTD and Freezing. Deleting mods, deactivating, reactivating, even starting a NEW GAME.

So I said screw it, and completely deleted Skyrim, my save, EVERY ounce of Skyrim was gone off my computer.

I re installed Skyrim and activated 3 mods: Alternative Life, SkyUI, A quality world map. Then the unofficial patches. yes I use BOSS.

Started a new game, as soon as I exit Whiterun BAM crash. Fight a lot of enemies, try to zone, CRASH. Fight enemies, move around, FREEZE. Got rid of the unofficial patches, no more crashing. I stressed the CRAP out of Skyrim. I spawned 300 guards, did a kill all, did a PSB, got every map marker zoned and zoned and zoned. NO MROE CRASHING. The minute I reactivate the patch, crashing and freezing everywhere. And again this is with running THREE WHOLE MODS.

So I am pissed beyond belief. For 5 friggan' days I was trying to figure out what the hell was causing my crashing. Not only did I have 200 hours in my save, I deleted that too.

Come to figure out it's the DAMN PATCH. I spawned FIVE HUNDRED guards, and did the killall command NO CRASH. Before with the patch on, I couldn't even spawn 10 guards and do killall, FREEZE. If it didn't' freeze it would eventually crash if I zoned.

Fix your patch there is an issue with it and the latest version of Skyrim i wasn't getting this with the older versions of Skyrim and this unofficial patch. Something is terribly wrong, you have two other issues too. The Magnus quest script gets stuck in a loop after completing it: MG07visual, and you still have those stupid weapon rack errors that SPAM the papyrus log.

Don't use this patch people. I have a reddit post on this too about my crashing, and me and this guy trying to figure things out, i would have NEVER thought it was the unofficial patches.

Not only that, the patch causes horrible frame rate slow down. With the patch on, my framerate is reduced I would say 20 frames, with it off, it runs full speed. I have been play testing with the patch on and off for hours using the mods I was using, I have not gotten one crash with it off, and constant with it on.

I have been troubleshooting everything for FIVE DAYS NOW. Finally after all that it was the unofficial patch.

I went through HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS of troubleshooting after getting home from work.

1. Using BOSS

2. Disabling renabling mods

3. Starting new games

4. Looking through papyrus log

5. Trying different ENBS

6. Trying ENB Boost

7. Trying the multithread tweak

8. Different drivers

And more and more and more troubleshooting.

Believe me guys it's the UNOFFICIAL PATCH.

i don't know man, but after 5 days of troubleshooting my ass off, this is a concrete conclusion. Whatever the unofficial patch does, my computer doesn't like it. There is incompatibility somewhere.

I would never of thought either, a patch would cause framerate slowdown, but I do have a considerable frame rate drop with the patch on.

A lot of others would've reported it. Turns out you're in the tiny minority, according to Nexus forums. If it's incompatibility, then it's really on your end and not the fault of the Unofficial patches.

In fact, a lot of new mods are requiring or at least suggesting the use of these patches. I doubt that mod authors just suggest them for the laughs.

Suggesting people not to use a mod, when you've done tests based only on your experience, and concluding it may be due to incompatibility, is not good advice. Incompatibility is player-experience, not a universal fact.

I have 140 mods, including SkyUI and A Quality World Map (Hi Res - All Roads, No Clouds) with Dawnguard and the USKP and UDGP and I don't experience any of that. Are you using a potato for a cpu?

And are you sure you have the latest versions? If you mean Alternate Start - Live Another Life, a new version went up on October 9th (2.3.3a), less than five days ago.

And have you tried it with NO mods, a fresh start and just the USKP etc?

In all your days of troubleshooting did you enlist any help from USkP Team if there is a bug with it the correct procedure is to report repeatable issues to the mod team

they can make mistakes but with proper reporting of bugs they will try to fix them

A new Beta is actually being tested now that may allready fix your issue

Just saying you have done all you say (even when true) means absolutely nothing at all as you have stated yourself the problem may be all at your end

you need to stop telling people not to use the patches it doesn't fix your problem and it's just wrong without proper troubleshooting which means

1. Accurately reporting issues finding repeatable errors trying offered solutions and then back to 1. util problem solved

Change the title of this post it's insulting to their hard work and just wrong you cannot say it causes CTD's just based on your experience alone

they have fixed many repeatable CTD's when correct procedure is followed and random CTD's can't be fixed if cause is unknown

Try the Beta and if issues persist which means being repeatable report to team

Random instability has to many possible causes on anybodies setup to be able to know what the cause is

Simple example of your case

you have a corrupted rarely used windows DLL

USkP alone of all Skyrim Mods uses that DLL

game crahes randomly whenever DLL is called

After days of Troubleshooting you find removing USkP "Fixes" problem so obviously because it's broken no one should use it

It's obviously wrong because "We Know" it's DLL not USkP

It is bad science and you should do it the right way if you really want to fix it

What's causing it is the Weaponscripts repeating themselves in the Papyrus log, (which is spamming the game internally with this data.) I posted this several times on this forum, and no one could help. There is a hot fix found here: http://afkmods.iguanadons.net/index.php?/files/file/817-weaponrackactivatescript-hotfix-for-uskp-133c/

After redoing an entire installation and fresh save from my original post, it started spamming the papyrus log AGAIN with this script.

Finally this hotfix, stopped that. I searched this weapon script problem over and over again on google could not find a link to this hot fix. How I found this was finally disabling the unoffical patch, which caused me to go on under the Posts of the unofficial patch and see someone posted the same issue. He was then linked to this hot fix. Note: With the unofficial patch ON this happens, with it off it doesn't.

It is NOT IN the description part of the page! This SHOULD BE.

So YES in a way there is an issue with this patch and that weapon scripting issue. This is what was getting my Papyrus log in a matter of seconds to 10 Megabytes:

10/11/2013 - 03:25:10PM] warning: Assigning None to a non-object variable named "::temp24" stack: [ (490239FA)].WeaponRackActivateScript.PlaceItem() - "WeaponRackActivateScript.psc" Line 268 [ (490239FA)].WeaponRackActivateScript.HandlePlayerItem() - "WeaponRackActivateScript.psc" Line 329 [ (490239FA)].WeaponRackActivateScript.RunPlayerActivation() - "WeaponRackActivateScript.psc" Line 188 [ (490239FA)].WeaponRackActivateScript.OnActivate() - "WeaponRackActivateScript.psc" Line 84 [10/11/2013 -

This was also causing my framerates to drop because of the massive script spam in the game. Hence my framerate drop, and then increase when disabling the patch. Either some of you are not noticing it, or you don' have the latest version of Skyrim. Seriously activate your Papyrus logs, make sure you don't have the hotfix, and are running 1.3.3C of the Patch. if you do then that's why you are not getting this issue. If you don't, look at your log see if that script is constantly repeating itself.

I posted this several times everywhere, and no one caught this, or identify this. I can guarantee you this HALF of the problems on why people are crashing.

That's funny, yesterday you were positive that you'd narrowed the issue down to Dynamic Loot. Now it's the one of most downloaded and endorsed mods on the Nexus that's causing the problem, and any of the ~971,000 people who've downloaded it and haven't had the same problem just doesn't notice it, or must be something wrong.

Wow.
