Hello

Today I saw a great landscape image on the Skyrim ImageShare, and, without thinking, right clicked and saved it. It's the first time I've saved someone elses work from the ImageShare section of the sites.

Only then did I think "Is this OK? Are there any rules about downloading images from the ImageShare?"

Then I thought "How many others have downloaded this image? Is there a way to find out?"

It's probably not possible to put a counter in for checking if a user has right clicked and saved an image, is it? But I know it's fairly easy to block that facility.

So I was then thinking maybe it would be nice to block the right click option and instead add a "Download" button underneath the main image, with a counter showing how many downloads there have been.

Does anybody else like that idea, or is it just me?

Thanks for your time.

I have not seen any rule against saving someone's image to your own computer and I have done this myself - twice.  In both cases I left the uploader a comment that I liked their image and had saved their image with the intent of using it as a desktop only and if they had a problem with me doing this - PM me or let me know and I'd delete it.  In both cases the uploader said "no problem" and were a bit surprised (I think) that someone liked their image enough to save it and use it as a desktop.

Where you would likely get into trouble is reposting it to another site or using it for other than personal use.

It's uploading them again either here or elsewhere that people get cranky about, I've never known anyone to get upset about someone saving their images.
