So, while cleaning out my storage unit today, I came across 5 50 gallon clear plastic tubs I use for storing old vintage electronics. I felt a surge of nostalgia and decided to spend the day going through my memories of old. 1st tub contained my old Commodore 64 system. This old gem is what got me into my life long love of PC's. I also still have all my old SSI Gold Box AD&D games for it (Curse of the Azure Bonds, Secret of the Silver Blades, etc.) Inside the same container resides my Coleco ADAM computer as well and it's "Tape Deck" HD. This is the 1st PC where I took a serious interest in "Basic", the computer language of the day. Also, after seeing the movie "WarGames" with Matthew Broderick, I had a serious desire to become some sort of hacker. Yeah, the only hacking I ever did was to hack open a box of Twinkies. Kids and there dreams.

2nd and 3rd tubs were full of consoles: ATARI 2600, ColecoVision, Odyssey, IntelleVision and my old NeoGeo with 4 games. There were also parts to my old Commodore Vic 120 in there. And, beneath all of this was my Panasonic 3DO with all my games for it (Wing Commander, Star Control II, SpaceHulk, Road Rash, etc.). I couldn't believe I bought that system at the time. It was hypeware at it's purest form.

The 4th tub, full of NES/ATARI games and quite a few SEGA CD/SEGA 32x games (Snatcher, Doom, Night Trap, Road Avenger, FlashBack, Out of this World, etc.) I remembered what my SEGA Genesis/SEGA CD/SEGA 32x looked like when it was all assembled: It reminded me of a very bad put together Frankenstein's Monster. It was atrocious.

Finally the 5th tub.....pride of place: Spare boards/parts for my Dragon'sLair/Space Ace arcade upright machines I bought at an estate auction in 1990. I have both machines still running in my spare bedroom to this day and play them both weekly.

I've been gaming since 1978. I have always loved it and am constantly amazed at how far gaming has come since games like Adventure on the ATARI 2600 to Skyrim today. This industry needs to harken back to it's roots on occasion to be reminded of just how far we have all come....and how far we sill have to go. I'd love to learn about your collection(s) and gaming experiences as well. No matter if you've been gaming for 35+ years like me to only 30 days, I'm still interested as I value the opinions and stories of the membership here on Nexus so please do drop a line. Peace to all and may you all get EPIC loot on your adventures.
