I know its the freezing point lol, i have a lcd read out on in case as well, and its pretty close , i once had a water cooling unit and it leaked on me , but when i had it up and running it was around 3C very close to the freezing mark, its ment to do that. The Heatsink works somewhat the same way.

Do you ever wonder why the ps3 stays as cool as i does? a heatsink, not to mention huge.

Course I realize C means Celsius.

The fact still stands that without something colder than 0C your CPU will never. EVER. Hit that on air cooling unless your house is that cold. Which a sure hope not.

No its not lol in fact its quit warm here. Well they weren't alll that accurate, they never are, i was just curious . even my lcd can get it wrong to, even when there is a sensor underneath the heatsink i placed myself .

Anyway, my point is that you shouldn't OC when you can't accurately gauge the temps. It's up to you though; what you do with your stuff is your business.

Remember i did take a chance, i have some pretty good cooling and i think its safe to overclock, but nothing more then that. It is stable and thats all that counts, no blue screens or anything.

decent clock for the phenom have a club here that's dedicated to the chip Running myself @ 4.1 but running just on air I have to slow down to 3.8 whats your configs to get that high?

After looking at the default overclocked setting that asus provided i started from there, You have to be carefull not be unbalanced, cpu and voltage. So i took it a step further do to the fact it was all in the green still .

A heatsink and 8 fans thats how i'm keeping it there its great.

oh almost forgot and one really powerfull fan and grill at the bottum of the case. It sucks out hot air at a really fast pase, you can feel it if you put your hand on it, in the front of the case.

I forgot all about it its so quiet lol.

I am about to get the exact same processor i plan to over clock to 3.5ghz on a 700w PSU but i am only going to use the standard CPU cooler.... ill see how it goes though if i see smoke ill rooster it back down.... ahh nothing like the smell of frying AMD Phenom X4

Not bad. I've got an i7 920 myself, and you wouldn't believe how well these things overclock. I've got it at 3.4 GHz now, but I've had it at and above 3.6 GHz...semi-stable. I probably could keep it there perfectly if I tweaked my voltages a bit more carefully, but hey, with powerful processors such as these, there isn't much reason to go that high. I'm very comfortable at 3.4 GHz, and after working out the voltages to get it here, I've raised my temps only about 5C from the standard 2.67 GHz clock rate.

...This is all done on stock cooling as well, haha.

I just looked at your temps. None of them are accurate...at all. 50C isn't much for a video card, and if your CPU was at 0C at that high of a clock speed, then you must have your computer submerged in liquid nitrogen or something. It's nice to overclock for the extra bit of performance, but you have to be careful. Don't just look at temps either, as a previous poster mentioned.

Yea the temps like i possibly stated before they where way off, i wonder if there is a way to get accurate temps from an lcd display, any suggestions.
