Hi. I've done some research, and I've thought long and hard on what I should do with all of these problems on my current computer. Every time I fix a problem, two more show up. I've decided to build my own new computer, but I want to know what parts I should get. I have a laptop, so I will take a Step-by-Step tutorial on building my first computer. (Wish me luck on that btw!)

The Parts I know to Get:

CPU (What type of CPU should I get?)
PSU (750watts)
RAM (obviously.. how much should I get?)
Motherboard (With PSI Express: What type of motherboard should I get?)
CD-Rom (I have NO IDEA on this one.)
Windows Vista (I'd assume I need x64 for the ammount of RAM i'm getting)
Large Case
Video Card (GTX295)
Sound Card (On board)

If I'm missing anything, that probably means I have no clue on what to get, so start recommending, fellow Nexus!

get an asus board I forget what kind my friend has, lol, but it is one that allows you to log on to the internet w/out booting your hard drive. I find out later the name...

AMD athalon 3.0ghz CPU around $120
Nvidia Geforce 8800gt 256mb integrated GDDR5
4gb DDR3 1066mhz. RAM, preferable Kingston
500 gb HDD 7600 rpm
42X? blueray W/ light scribe
you may want to get a separate cpu fan
as well as thermal grease

let me know if I missed anything

Really? I thought a GTX295 was only $500? To be honest, I don't really have a budget at the moment. I'm going to run down to Best Buy and browse there tommorow. I'm pretty much seperating good from bad. If I had to say, $1,800 is my max.
