Goldeathorus, as it says in PatcherGUI readme file, you should point an utility to XCOM/XEW folder for patching Enemy Within.

EvilNecroid, as it says in multiple places and in bold font: use PatcherGUI to install.

Ah. Well, I probably should've paid a bit more attention to that one; I'm not sure why, but I hadn't realized that Enemy Within actually installed to a separate folder and assumed that they just merged them to apply patches more easily. Thanks for the help; I'll make sure I try to pay a bit more attention to specifics for XCOM mods in future.

Goldeathorus, EU/EW aren't very mod-friendly. So yes, you need to read instructions carefully, to ensure everything will work.

PatcherGUI is part of the 'UPK Utils' collection. You can find links to it and all the other modding tools mentioned in this forum on the 'Modding Tools' wiki page.

The main difference of PatcherGUI/PatchUPK is that it uses so called "object-oriented" patching, so modders don't need to recalculate offsets each time Firaxis decides to release a new patch. Plus it has some other features, unavailable in ToolBoks (like function resizing).

Hello. I am getting the following when trying to patch XCEW:
Can't find object named XGBattleDesc.ShouldSpawnMeldCanisters
Execution stopped at #4 command named OBJECT.
Any advice?

Update:
While the Patch1 compatible mod would install in the XCom-Enemy-Unknown folder with zero issue and it functioned in game perfectly.
It seems that the Patch2 compatible version of this mod needs to be installed to XCom-Enemy-Unknown > XEW folder.
I only get the above error when pointing the Patch2 compatible version of this mod to the XCom-Enemy-Unknown folder.
I pointed both Patch1 and 2 versions to the XEW folder and both seemed to install.
Is this normal behavior?
Oh and I almost forgot, Thank you for a fantastic mod!!

Everything related to EW has to be in (or pointed to) the XEW folder and below. Anything one level up (i.e. the XCom-Enemy-Unknown folder) and below, other than the XEW folder, is considered EU related.
Just guessing, but the author probably tightened up the pathing requirements of the mod to avoid mistakes.
