I'm really loving the retexture it looks really nice :)
Now only if I can find a retexture that fixes the ugly city gate doors, my life would be complete.

There hasn't been one? This is the thing that bugs me, too :D

I thought that Improved Doors and Flora (or whatever the name's - I always change it when I remix textures) sorted it out, but it seems that city gates are still quite horrid... Now, when you mention it, it may be the time to do something about it indeed - just who's going to do it first? ;P

In response to post #10555690. #10555965 is also a reply to the same post.

It isn't even the wood portion of the door, it's the metal around the wood that looks terrible, it looks really shiny and out of place in comparision. I'm using QTP3, Arena HD, Imperial City HD, ect. I believe that the metal textures in Oblivion have either been ignored or it's really hard for texture artists create accurate metal textures (Bethesda's vanilla textures for metal look awful, in Oblivion and Skyrim). It would be great if you could attempt to remedy this issue whenever you get the chance.

Wow, you went for a total overhaul. O0
I must admit that to me this has been a kind of a challenge for fun, and I was working on it, too. But my approach is different. I decided to keep the general layout, because I think it's really nice. So I changed textures of wood, ironwork and these blasted normal maps (8 times out of ten it turns out they are the main reason behind blurry/vomit-like textures). Mind you, the retex in this image is just a rough quick sketch to see the colours in-game. I still need to refine the ironwork and normals. Oh, and the dragon was slapped on at the last moment, so it really doesn't fit, but I haven't had time to do it properly. Damn, I wish I had more time to work on this fascinating thing :)
