This is the official topic about the next version of SU. If you want to beta test the mod please read CAREFULLY the following:

1/ You have to create un new game. Don't install this on an existing savegame, even if you are currently using SU. Dawnguard and Dragonborn are REQUIRED.

2/ DO NOT USE other mods which modifies:
- difficulty
- leveled lists
- weapons
- armors
- recipes
- NPC
- followers
- etc...
To be clear, use only graphics mods if you want to beta test this file. I will add compatibility patches for extra mods soon.

3/ DUEL V5 is still strongly recommended (not V6 or V7).

4/ A compatibility patch for USKP is provided. It includes Unofficial patch for Skyrim and DLC (DB and DG) compatibility patch in a single file. If you use USKP, you HAVE TO USE this patch.

DESCRIPTION:

SU2 keeps all the features from SU, but it's more balanced, more complete and maybe more difficult. Good items are rarer, there are less potions, and followers have to be paid every days if you want to keep them by your side (thanks to Marcoousik for letting me use his ideas and scripts). There are also a lot of little details which have been polished and improved, but globally, it keeps the original SU philosophy.

INSTALLATION:

The archive contains 4 files:
- Skyrim Unleashed II.esm
- Skyrim Unleashed II.esp
- Skyrim Unleashed II.bsa
- SU_USKP compatibility patch

The .esm file should be the last esm in your load order. Load the SU_USKP file just after your USKP/USKP for DG/USKP for DB files. The SUII.esp should be loaded at the end of your load order but it is not so important.

Your load order should be:
...
Skyrim Unleashed II.esm
USKP files.esp
SU_USKP compatibility patch
...
- Skyrim Unleashed II.esp

REPORT:
Please report here if you find some "bugs", strange things, and balancing problems. It is really important that you must be a SU user, and that you already know how the original mod works. I won't explain here what's the mod's purpose and how you have to play with SU.

ABOUT DIFFICULTY LEVELS:
There are 2 difficulty levels in SU2: Normal and Hardcore.
If you set your game difficulty in Novice, Apprentive, Adept, Expert, or Master, then you play in "Normal" difficulty. If you set it to Legendary, then you play in Hardcore mode.

Be carefull, Hardcore mode should be played only if you have followers to help you. For a lone adventurer, it will be really hard to stay alive...

Thx for your help, and have fun!

IMPORTANT
There are some problems with my SU_USKP compatibility patch. Please don't use USKP for the moment if you want to test the mod.

Fixed in version Beta2

Hello Laast,

Thanks for the new mod to test. I have noticed only one thing so far, the leveling for block seems to be very slow. I trained blocking on a lesser animal for a long time and got no new levels. It took 50-60 hits for one new block level, which I think is a little much. Anyways, I am not complaining just pointing out my observations so far. I will do more testing tonight.

In response to post #10715743.

Try to train against a stronger enemy who deals more damage.

Ok, training is much quicker the harder I am being hit so problem solved there, thanks. I started over today with the beta 2 and went with a Breton. I received the conjure familiar spell like usual but it costs 300 magic to cast. Is this intentional? I would hope not to have to put 20 levels worth of stats into magic just to cast a basic conjure wolf spell.

Yes it costs 3 times the vanilla cost, BUT the spells duration is 3 times longer in SU (180 s in SU vs 60 s in vanilla). If you want to reduce by half the Conjuration spells cost, don't forget to spend perks in your Conjuration tree ;)

Sounds legit, but maybe you should consider to change the start spell of bretons then. Cause granting a player a spell from start that he cannot use from start, having to level up a longer time to use it seems strange. Maybe you can replace the "conjure familiar"-spell with another less effective version for startgame. Like don't know, a 30sec lasting one, or one with a weaker familiar (I don't meant to replace the spell at all, just adding another weaker one for the start too ^^). Just a suggestion.

Going to test your beta-version in an instant, and then the next few days all the time, got finally holidays xD.

Okay, I tested it today an hour or so. I am going to play further and then make a small list with the issues I met.

Just a quik question: What are your purposes with the mod? I mean, what is your final goal, what is it ou want to change? Just so I don't suggest things that are not the purpose of this mod.

EDIT 1:

Ok, I played another 2 hours now. I wandered around Helgen and Riverwood to find some adventures, was quite interesting.

Human enemies are a lot more harder, like in the old SU version. It is just really satisfying if you kill for example a adept cunjurator and get a lighting staff from his dead body. Then you go to a mine, and with the help of the new found staff you can kill the bandit guard in front of it, getting more loot, that you can sell, to afford a better armor and/or weapon. Feels somehow like the old Gothic games from germany, and feels really great . But then I had to learn, that more than 1 bandit can be god damn difficult, even with a follower (ok, it was just faendal but, yeah).

What I don't like, is that I have to pay Faendal for his company. I think, that the payed mercaneries in vanilla Skyrim were enough people to pay for company. Faendal is not a mercanary, he is a guy, who I helped and that is, why he likes my charakter and agreed to follow me. A quite week reason, cause the quest was not that hard, but, I don't think the money solution you provided seems legit. On the way from Riverwood to Whiterun I had to pay him twice 10 Gold. It is not much, but it seems unrealistic for me. Just for the purpose of balancing followers? I don't like that, cannot get warm with it. Maybe it is just me but, yea ... Just my two cents for that.

Another small thing: If you dismiss a follower, the following Messagebox is on french. ^^

The new leveled list for enemies seems to be nice, they enhance the new feeling of getting good loot for a hard fight. But, the leveled list of the smiths can be a bit strange when you find two enchanted bonemold gauntlets in riverwood, just sounds not realistic. ^^

EDIT 2:

Ok, the leveled list is really a bit strange, now I can buy enchanted Stahlrim armor from Hoth in Riverwood. ^^ I mean, if you don't want to keep it lorefriendly, k, then it is no problem, cause even if I am still lv 3 or 4 and I could buy a stahlrim armor, I have no money for it. And if I had the money, then I would have earned the money, cause to get such an amount with your mod is hard work. ^^

In response to post #10738070.

You can find everything from DLC everywhere in Skyrim. It was the same in my previous version. I don't understand why there would be chitin, bonemold or stahlrim stuff in a small island near Skyrim, and not a single of these stuff in the continent. THIS is a bit strange and not realistic.

About paid followers, it is not because Faendal is your friend that he is your slave. He also need to earn his life and get some money from your adventures. That's why you have to give him some coins from time to time. You want to keep him as a friend right? ;)

Something I forgot to say : you can have 5 followers + a dog...

Are you using a timescale mod to make hours in game longer? I strongly recommend to use one ( Dynamic Timescale for example) and set the timescale around 8 or 10.

Thx for this feedback, I'm already working on updates and patches.

I think Stahlrim and Bonemold are unrealistic to find in Skyrim cause of two different reasons:

1. Stahlrim is a material only found on Solstheim. That Hoth in Riverwood has enough money to import Stahlrim to Skyrim and has the knowledge to make something out of it seems strange. ^^

2. You can find Bonemold Armour in Solstheim cause it is inhabited by Dunmers (Redorans and Co) too, and they are the ones using Bonemold Armor. That is no typical armor of the Skyrim or others countries (for example, in Oblivion you cannot find Bonemold Armor, cause there is no Bonemold Armor in Cyrodiil). Same for chitin. You got Chaurus Armorparts in form of Falmer Armor in Skyrim, but Chitin Armor, made out of the creatures of Morrowind is not really common in Skyrim.

To the followers:

Hm ok, I see your point somehow, but still, there are some followers like Lydia, that are helping you cause of another reason (Lydia for example should be paid by Jarl of Whiterun and not by the Dragonborn, or not? ^^ But I don't even know if you have to pay her, cause I did not play the main quest using this mod.) And there are some other guys, like your friends from the Companions, that are following you, cause they like you. I like the thought, that they travel with you, and loot some things themself, even if you will not see it, I just imagine it, cause paying them seems just odd for me. And what happens if you make them to blades? Have you still to pay them for their services? I mean, I know they have to earn money somehow, but you are the one they swear to protect, so ... ^^

Maybe that part of your mod is just not mine, maybe I expand the stories around followers like Faendal more than there is in the vanilla game. Maybe other testers like that way. Cause I know, followers are strong and if you got 2 of them, the game can be pretty easy, and having to pay them balances this a bit. Cause, if you want to keep them always around, you really have to spend that money into their company or otherwhise you have to go alone.

And yeah, maybe I should use a timescale mod, sounds good, I will try it (maybe I should use one anyway, cause time in vanilla is just passing by like cheetahs on speed.)
