[WIP] Tron-like Dungeon tileset Could use Texture help

I already made an image post about this but I figured I'd post here as well with maybe some additional details.

I've attached the images of the piece of wall for an interior dungeon tileset that I'm making with Tron-like inspirations. So imagine an interior level with walls, floors and ceilings with this design style.

The only thing is that the black metallish part could use some improvements. If anyone thinks they can help me out with the textures please PM me. I've actually applied a glow map texture and made the glowstripes glow through nifskope but it doesn't seem to glow as bright as I thought it would.

I applied a generic metallic texture image for the texture. I did this because I didn't know how visually pleasing full solid colors would be but I'll experiment with both styles and post images here for feedback.

Edit:

I've made an adjustment to the texture and in my opinion it looks so much better. I'm probably going to use this revised version as the base for the interior set pieces.

Edit2:

I should also like to add that while I'm making these tilesets I don't have a solid story or narrative just yet. I've got a vague notion of one and mostly I'm just throwing a bunch of things on the wall and seeing what sticks. So this thread is also a bit of recruitment drive for a potential writer partner. The mod will still get made even if I don't get someone to help out but it will probably take longer. And this is a chance for anyone to potentially add their own input in this project from the ground up as this project is still very early.

Okay dudes a little update. I spent some additional time on this and I've made a single tron-like room wall piece. It's got the wall, floor, and ceiling complete. My plan is to make a whole series of interior pieces with this kinda design.

This is a 3ds max render firstly the ceiling piece. And the second image is a render of the floor piece and wall piece.

So any biters? Anyone interested in working or throwing in some suggestions about this project? I admit I didn't open up this thread in a clear way and I didn't correctly identify the kind of help I'm looking for. Eventually I'll probably make a new thread to hopefully attract others to this project. Also I'll eventually make a moddb page once I have more to show. But yeah if anyone's got something to say I would love to hear it!

My story for this project is kinda something like this:

A bunch of Fiends doped up on psycho and mentats learn computer skills way beyond the average programmer. Eventually they make a virtual gameworld that has sucked in innocent wastelanders into it and the PC has to go into the gameworld and either destroy the game master AI or control it and sell virtual trips to addicts for good caps.

This mod is gonna be more than a bit goofy.

Welp. I just spent a lot of time working on finishing up the interior bits I had left. Found out an issue with all the pieces so that took me some time to fix (dimensions of the pieces were wrong) but now finally! Finally I am done with one room.

I'll be taking a break from this project for like a week or so. I've just been working on this like a demon possessed it was crazy.

It's hard to tell but I actually applied glow maps to the neons. I also applied an additional glow effect in nifskope by adjusting the Emissive colors.

But I'm still learning how to animate stuff in nifskope and eventually I'd like for some animated statics.

  • 3 weeks later...

I've finished a couple hallway pieces. I'll have to adjust some things about them but otherwise they're good.

This picture shows the hallways without a pipboy light on.

The hallway with the pipboy light on. Just demonstrating the glow effect of the blue lines.

Right now I'll be making more interior pieces and variations on those interior pieces.
