I would just like to have some information on status of Nexus servers/maintenance.  I've been getting 'down for maintenance' or 'problem with database (try again soon)'.

 

I used to OCCASIONALLY get a message that the Nexus site was down for maintenance.  Now it is an almost daily occurrence that Nexus mods (Dragon Age) and/or forums will be unavailable for hours.  Primarily in the afternoon, but it is 6am east coast of the US and the mods are unavailable but the forums are available.  If this happened once a week, I would think that this would be a natural time for maintenance when the traffic on the site is probably light.  But this is daily and sometimes multiple times each day.

 

IS there maintenance being done or is this something that Nexus has been unaware of?

 

Edited: While I was trying to post this message, I got another of the 'database' error messages and saved the message to a txt file so I wouldn't have to retype.  A few minutes later, the forums were available again.

Me too, i can only remain in forum area, and messenger area, and also here with many database struggling messages or down for maintenance, and also to me this happens quite a lot, i thought that was a problem with my country, Italy, but now i see is a global issue...

Further i can't reach the files and images page, i can only type nexus forums on google to go in my messenger page or here, if i go to the main page form google, site down for maintenance...

No idea if any admins are aware of any problems, but it seems that all mod sites are currently down for "maintenance" and have been for at least 40 minutes now. Normally when I get this I just check back every 30 minutes or so, if there is a database problem then that's probably why the sites are down for "maintenance" so all we can do is be patient while the problem gets fixed.

alduin78 - I am glad that I'm not the only one!  I kept thinking that it was just me.

 

Grizzly_UK - this has been going on for well over a month now.  In late November, I thought that all of the people on vacation where hitting the servers hard and causing the problem. In December, I thought it was everyone on vacation with the Christmas and other holidays causing heavy traffic.  I'm out of holidays to blame this on!

Mine was down for about 10 min just now but Skyrim for me is back up.  Weekends are especially heavy for traffic (Sundays being the worst) and sometimes in order to catch up a bit they will put the file sites in maintenance mode for a small time so that they CAN catch up and not crash out.  I can not confirm this is the case now and hopefully someone with more access to this information can comment for you all.

 

I have not gotten any database error this morning but I have only been online about 40 min.  And yes the links Thandal provided can give you some additional information of all these happenings in general.

Is there something more serious going on? Skyrim Nexus loaded fine for me a few minutes ago, I clicked on a link and I got the "maintenance" message again!

I'm SURE those links would be most informative , but the site is down for maintenance.   

 

Maybe the message just needs to be changed to be more informative than 'maintenance'.  "This site is temporarily unavailable while we work on changes/upgrades"  I've gotten SO MANY maintenance messages at this point (since November) that it must be the best maintained site on the internet.

Lisnpuppy: It's all the morning that i experienced this down for maintenance window, i understand that maybe weekends could be the most traficated time in a week, but in the past weeekends i was perfectly able to use the whole site, messenger, downloading mods, endorsing images...

 

For now i stil can't go from here to the nexusmod page without encountering the down for maintenance window...

 

I hope this will be resolved soon, i mean that i hope it's not a big problem for the site...
