I don't know, none of this seems to be working. I think I'm just going to completely uninstall Skyrim and reinstall a clean, new slate. I've been looking at different ways but all of them are different. Could you guys help me? I'm going to be specific with what I'd like to do:

 

-Completely uninstall Skyrim

-Completely uninstall SKSE

-LEAVE my mods so I won't have to re-download all of them

-LEAVE my saves

-Reinstall Skyrim

-Reinstall SKSE

 

Can this be done? BOSS didn't work, updating Steam didn't work, verifying my game cache didn't work, I just want to completely start with a new slate but keep my content. Is this possible?

Some things I ought to note:

 

-I'm not sure if my SKSE Plugins was supposed to have a lot of stuff, that's literally all mine had

-There were some panels asking me to check boxes and such everytime I'd paste all of it, so I just didn't mess with it

Here's another weird little update: I loaded a save from December 2012, and it worked. Granted my character was totally different, but it's still better than nothing But then I tried to load a save that was only about six months ago and it crashed again.

Oh, gods. There are some bad bad mods in there.
Specifically, Draco's Castle. I'd get rid of that immediately. Sauron's Armour is also not recommended. Bad mojo.

Anyway, well.. That's a rather messy load order. A very messy load order indeed.
​There are a few things you're going to need to do, so this might get detailed.

First up, you're gonna need to clean your plugins with TES5Edit. This can be a bit time consuming, since you have a lot of plugins that need cleaning.
Should take about 15 minutes.

Anyways, after that, perhaps consider removing some (a lot) of the mods you don't really need. Instead of any other house mods, you should add Build Your Own Home. Instead of adding a bunch of different modded armours you should perhaps just stick with Immersive Armours and maybe two or three new modded sets.

Same goes for weapons, really, you're better off avoiding anything that isn't Weapons of the Third Era/Immersive Weapons.
But really, I'd recommend removing any mods you don't absolutely need. For example, if you're not going to use a mod added follower, uninstall it. If you're not gonna use the portal gun, uninstall it.
I would recommend uninstalling as much as possible without making you feel uncomfortable. (lots of those unrecognized plugins gone would be ideal)

Now, after you've touched up your mod list.. I'm afraid to say that the likelihood of you being able to continue from that save is very very very very slim. You will more than likely need to restart. :/

But be very careful with cleaning the official esm files. It MUST be done in the correct order, and you must not clean Skyrim.esm.

 

I WOULD strongly recommend getting the Unofficial Patches for those esm files as well USKP, UDGP and UDBP

 

 

At the moment, I think getting a properly trimmed mod list and a fresh start with a new character is probably your best option. It's a shame all those LOTR-type mods are unrecognised if you really like them, but if you do not know exactly what they do and how they do it, manual positioning can be difficult.

 

UFO by fLokii should really be last in load order and installed strictly according to instructions and uninstalled in the same way. That is one of the mods that broke when I tried using NMM.

 

Vamyan is trying to update it, so I do not know which version you have, but check with the new author about load order. I think there is an all-in-one esp for DB and Vanilla. I still use fLokii's last version, and it's a great mod that still works for Vanilla and DG for me as long as I do not use NMM for another mod, as it still breaks for me. But I have been playing solo for a while, anyway.

Well you see, I have a YouTube series and a lot of these mods I use in this series, so a lot of them I can't delete (atleast for now). 

 

Have you guys ever heard the saying, "count your losses and move on?" Well, I think that applies pretty well here. I really appreciate you guys helping me out, but I simply lack the knowledge and patience required to fix this problem even with a lot of help from you two. So I think I'm going to clean up my load order to the best of my abilities, load from the most recent save I can, and just start over.
