Even though the game isn't really made for it, multiplayer TCP/IP ability would really make it a game like no other. However, then I would spend even more time playing and less time modding.

*mental image of Azura saying "and you three really are the Nerevarines"*

I agree, the ability to play with a small number of friends would make this the greatest game ever. Guess we can always hope for it with ESIV....

lol that would be cool. just LAN tho, a mass multiplayer universe would be utter chaos as has been discussed in other threads :P

I have seen enough of MMORPGs. They are nice for a year, then they get greedy and the service and quality of updates decreases and the monthly fee increases. And there are too much idiots, scammers, cheaters and you know what else on them. I rather play with people I choose. Baldur's Gate was great for that.

I would hate to see Morrowind go multiplayer. Like the other ES games it is a pure and good single player. There are enough online RPG's out there. And I really hope they don't make ESIV multiplayer...

Morrowind will always remain on my computer. Like FF7, I will play it time to time for memories of one of the greatest games I have ever played. I do think that when ESIV comes out Morrowind will go into the shadows... like Daggerfall and Arena did (but will still be loved by a few diehard fans). Hopefully Betheda will see how much success the game had with the construction set and add it into ESIV. But until then... gotta get back to playing Morrowind. :D

i would bet money that bethseda knows the game would loose all of its authenticity in ES IV if it went MMORPG. LAN would be fun but you would have to find the time to coordinate it so you could all play at the same time so no one party member gets too powerful. and they'd have to work out stuff like if there are quests like the nerevarine...who gets to be it? something like Freeplay in a lan setting would be best for this sort of thing because it would essentially make the players unable to do those single player specific quests and just run around and do guild quests and the like.

at least if they make LAN (praying they do) then the have to seriously consider the quests they're going to put into the game so there isn't a question as to who will become the next main quest hero. but as i've read in a different forum the task would be so enourmous because of the scripts involved with dialouge and how each NPC reacts to every player in the game. 8 players in a game with several thousand NPCS makes for a very far off release date and a hell of a lot of caffine.

I did not say it had to become mmoprg.

Freelancer contains a single player and the multiplayer is just the same as the single only that the main quest was left out of it. Quite normal...

All the ones who have played freelancer already will know what i'm talking about. The multi is just the same as single only this time you play with your friends and dont need to pay :)
