1. I want to recreate realism of middle ages, not beautiful beggars!
2. I want to make the character as real as possible, even face isn't pretty-god-like!
3. Again and again, LORE is the main enemy of TES Modders.
4. I DON'T WANT old, poor, dirty beggar look like 22 years old hot guy!
5. These mods cause BIG issue with Khajiits texture, and that are 30MB and more.
But, if you can give me good female body replacer that doesn't conflict with robert's body Khajiit texture, you will be rewarded!

In short: I like girls
In long:
Well I am a guy and as I said I like girls, and even though I don't play in 3rd person view because it's horrible I enjoy being a nice girl in some sexy armour rather then a big, muscular, ugly orc.

But really, strafing for realism in a game where fireballs shoot out of your hand and various random realism breaking things Oblivion has to offer, is just pretty stupid if you ask me
Oblivion will not get realistic, now don't mix up realism and immersion, because while Oblivion is rich of immersion it's not very realistic at all, but really it's all about personal preferences, he likes to be a male, I like being a female.
Aaaaaaaal about what you - as an individual think

Unfortunately, you can't find one(without using plugin, there's no way to solve it). It's vanilla game issue. By default, all Khajiit male and female share same foot texture, and it becomes pain in the ass when you try to use body replacer.

Three reasons for this:
1) Been playing games for nearly twenty years and I'm bored with playing as males, generic or otherwise.
2) It suits my gameplay style better, as I prefer stealth and caution in tactics. Using a female character fits in with this better from a psychological perspective as I'm more 'protective' towards them and therefore more careful with their usage.
3) Eye candy. I have no interest in spending tens of hours looking at a bloke's butt when I can spend that time far more pleasantly looking at a girl's butt.

My characters are actually taken from a novel I wrote during the end of high school, and first part of my university education. I still think the story has potential but it needs a total redo. One of the character's backstory practically fits the basic premise of Oblivion, after some lore tweaking of course. I don't mean the Main Quest though. I still haven't done it.
As others have said, it's aesthetic mostly. I'd rather look at a woman's ass than a man's. My female characters end up being the ones I play the most. I can't stand overtly sexual body replacers though. I use Robert's because they're a down to Earth option for nudity.
But then again, would any Legend of Zelda game be improved if you had the option to make Link a girl? I think not.
Well, I'm a guy, and I only play males. Why? I can give you 5 good reasons.
1. I want to recreate realism of middle ages, not beautiful beggars!
Thank you. However, as others have said, you're in the wrong place if you want historical realism, but I'm sure you know that. Do you use any mods to this effect? If I was to mod Oblivion to be more realistic, the first thing I would nix would be the Black Horse Courier. The second thing I would nix would be a line of dialogue in the Chorrol Palace missing artwork quest in which a servant said he spent the night reading.

My Oblivion avatar is the same gender as me, but she's nothing like me. She's a tall Half-Breton Half-Nord spellcasting warrior. Besides, Oblivion really doesn't give you the option to make your avatar overweight.
But who really cares? Play whatever kind of character you want however you want. Your game isn't mine and vice-versa. If one gender plays as another, for whatever reason, it's not our place to judge them!

I mean realist of midieval times, have you watched films like Merlin? On BBC there was one, 6 months ago... So, like realism of combat, not slashing goblin lord 2000 times to kill it, realism of magic, something like Merlin style. Realism of people, not "everyone looks really cool, but none cooler than other". Stuff like that... Download Duke Patrick's Combat Archery, Combat with no recoil Silver Edition, and stuff like that, you'll see realism of combat, so 1 arrow WILL kill you if it hit the head, you'll have to dodge every single arrow, shield will block hit realistically... Much more included...But really, strafing for realism in a game where fireballs shoot out of your hand and various random realism breaking things Oblivion has to offer, is just pretty stupid if you ask me

Anyway, lets keep the topic's original question here, why guys play females.
