I have played as both a male and a female in Oblivion, and I can see the appeal of both.
Females are a bit easier on the eyes than males, at least for me.
On the other hand, I can relate to male characters a bit better, being male myself.

So, it all comes down to personal preference.

I'm female, and I used to only make female characters, and preferred vid games where I could play a female, but I did play GTA, which forced me to be a male.

However, I recently spent a lot of time designing a male companion for one of my favorite female characters, and I modeled him after my real life husband, and I just became so enamored with him, that I decided to get to know him better by playing him as a main player character, and he has been so much fun.

I get to know my characters' personalities and quirks through the role play during the game, and I'm just more crazy about him than ever after playing him for a few short weeks. It takes months and years for me to feel like I really know what makes my characters tick, so I'm really looking forward to getting to know him better, but he's the BOMB!

To me there isn't any problem in choosing gender.. a "showracemenu" will do ..
but i don't like to change my male character's appearance.[ i just feel changing it means nothing.]
when i use the female one i often try new clothes mod and try to be beautiful.
Yes, it is my preference. After all i am a boy and i never change my style of my looking.
And as siniVII said i also have the opinion of "a good body to become my wife's."Great.

LOL, all my saves are males. The people who do that must be lonely.
And no offense to girls, but I don't think that females would be able to swing around big weapons and shoot bows as good as guys can.

I'mma guy, yet I worry how I look, even in Oblivion.... although there isn't exactly a male hair that matches mine... Damn scene-like hair... But yeah, I gotta play as a guy I can't get into character if I'm not the same sex as me, heh.

I'm sorry to say that what I said I believe is true, we are equal in mind, but not physical abilities.

And I hate those lonely pervs that create a hot female character and stare at their butt the whole time they play!
