Recreating "myself" in Oblivion and Morrowind is something I've always done. I don't think I've ever made a female character in both games, imagining myself within the game seems to give more immersion. I think people who are saying they are male and make male characters because it is more "realistic" to them mean the same.
The only time I ever create a female character in any game is if I'm forced to look at the character and the genders have different attack animations. The whole "if I have to look at my character ..." never mattered much to me because if I can, I always play in first person. Combat and what not seems so much more smooth that way to me.
Not be offensive. Just wondering why are so many guys making women cha

There are more female mods. I've seemed to neglect using female characters in the past. I guess for me i just wanted change. Plus, 99% of the armor made by the devs and modders look better on females.
Its the same with WoW too.
I used to play a Male character, but then got bored of it- it was due to the crappy guilds on the Alliance side..
Faction changed it to Female Blood Elf Paladin. (Paid £20)

In some games, a female does have advantages over males. I play a female character when I can because I will not be female in this life time.
Also, years ago, in a D&D type game, my character was changed from male to female over a period of months due to a spell released from an artifact. I've played a female when I can since then.
A few weeks ago, I did a series of screenies in Image Share, and my character told her story.

I only relatively recently started playing female characters, but since have played more female than male.
Part of it is that it makes it easier to actually roleplay (or what I consider roleplaying-- to take on another role in the game, rather than just injecting myself into the game). Most of the male characters I've played have ended up being more or less me, idealized into the game. But the female characters are axiomatically not me, and can't be. I have to play them not as me, but as them, so they end up taking on distinct personalities separate from my own. Rather than just running around and doing stuff, I end up essentailly following around as this separate person does stuff. Rather than just doing whatever I want to do next, I find myself watching as she does what she wants to do next. And that's added an entirely new dimension to my enjoyment of the game, and one that's carried over now into how I play male characters. They're no longer just a sort of vague translation of me in the game, but are their own individuals, with their own personalities and their own interests and desires and goals and ambitions.
That and....... yeah...... I just prefer looking at a female character.

maybe it is because the world needs more womanHi, just wondering why are so many guys making women character in the game(it may be a offensive topic to some,If it is please remove it)
When ever i play oblivion (or any other game) where i have to create a character, i try to make it as close to me as possible, as i consider to be my second life away from this boring life.
But i have seen that guys these days are making more and more women character. why is that ?

I always start as a male charecter, then try a female one to see the difference. That, and some armour mods for women are nice, but nothing too wierd lol

I always play in 3rd Person. It's not really about staring at eye candy (though that can be a nice bonus sometimes). I have a few female characters I would not consider sexy. Two of them have the age slider almost all the way up! I have also really been getting into a male character recently. I play him in 3rd Person as well.
I don't like imagining "myself" in the game. I naturally add story to the game in my head as I play. I want the stories to be about somebody, so I play with the character visible all the time. I've always gravitated towards female characters, strong and weak, hot and not so hot, so I just find myself more interested in playing females.

Depends on the race, and what type of character I want to play. I'm a female though.
