Giant robots (ridable)

Ok, but remember you have to make the brotherhood armor unreconizeablely different(look at his images) and change the head to a custom "robot" design or replace the head with one of the robot head "types" in game (tv not included)

also we need to make a custom HuD for the robot.

need to finish the "defensive measures" stuff aka guns and robo fists ( or maybe gun-hands) (also decide defensive measures)

plus we need "unfinished" versions for lore purpose

need decide what we need to get to make the robots "finshed", (what parts it would need to repair it(I say a lot of scrap metal))

two "buckers"(I think a custom big barn will do), where the robots can walk out of, and where they are (kinda aleady talk about this already but we need to know how they are gonna be positioned in the areas I discussed)

and The AI stuff (needs a personality in words but also seem old(actaully just tired))

and where to bury or put the keys in the "playground" in freeside

Giant robots ridable.... Hmmm...

Pacific Rim?

Mechwarrior?

Na....

I would prefer a suit or heavy armor with some rockets on the hands

And a minigun

and a laser... and more stuff

- Right Arm - Laser cannon (inclined to use the X-42 Giant Robo-Scorpion's laser tail with a Tesla Cannon model replacing the forearm)

- Left Arm - Gauss machine gun (three Gauss Rifle barrels, fires roughly 240 gauss rounds per minute)

- Shoulder - 20mm Autocannon (scaled Peacekeeper model if we can get one, otherwise maybe whip something up involving a Grenade Machinegun)

You'v probably noticed that your character can't weild two weapons at once, this limitation makes it difficult to have a left and right weapon. I don't believe we don't weapon animations for the left arm. You'v probably also noticed that when equipping the shoulder mounted machine gun, your other weapon is no longer equipped. We *might* be able to get around that one by some tricky jury rigging.....I have a *possible* idea.

Design Ideas

- Some sort of fusion plant on the back (not sure how to represent)

- Arm weapon models replacing forearms (animation there might be tricky)

Yes I'v done that with a protectron for OWB (he uses a blue laser so he needs a lot of juice).

The mantis has a good arm weapon.

We can use an altered Brotherhood T-51b mesh for the second robot,

To me, both the 45 & 51 don't look like promising bases, but I'll see what I can do.

So the brotherhood rebrands/rebadges US military equipment in the case of power armor, and frankly I don't think they have the know how to make their own mech. They'r not like the enclave that has produced more advanced versions of power armor, post war. Keeping an enclave theme makes sense, because they just might be able to to produce new tech...stretching it with a mech, but hey, we have to work with what we can here. Another complicationg factor is that the Enclave is about as dead as you can get on teh west coast (maybe some places have active factions, but nothing really in the Mojave).

However the NCR may still be sorting through Enclave tech & facilities on teh west coast (for example the "package" that triggered the divide), so it's possible that an unfinished enclave mech could end up in NCR hands (might even have been in one the research sections of the oil rig, might be another location. There is a lot of Enclave locations on teh west coast that the NCR could find prototype enclave projects.

But the BOS version won't have any roots in the brotherhood of steel, just what they could recover. We could say West Tek was using power armor as a base to explain a model that looks similar to T-51b, but we don't *have* too. We could concoct a scenario where a special strike team (led by the courier) steals an (or the) enclave mech and just rebadges the superweapon. Alternately they recover a Liberty prime prototype (if I can make a passable imitation of the model), *or* a Japanese version (if Shogo allows us to use his assets for the japanese power armor), *or* alters a large robot, etc. Basically what I'm saying is that if we go with teh Mojave faction of the BOS, theyr going to have to find it (I don't believe they have the resources to build their own). Long story short, where it's from should probably determine what it looks like (keeping in mind my limited skills in blender) and we're not limited to something that resembles power armor.

Practically speaking we may have to use power armor since we don't have too many outfits/armors that look close to robotic, but if we find options, it's easy to swing the story line to fit.

Also a couple of ideas for opponents;

*If the NCR have a mech it could possibly be stolen by something similar to Presper the mad scientist. An alternate idea could also work for the BOS

*The calculator has some massively sized bots in the midwest (although it's probably long dead, some may still have some damaged programming and be traversing the wasteland).

*"The" giant robo scorpion that was found in the mountains of OWB might make an interesting opponent (maybe Mobius just disabled it and didn't destroy it).

*Other over-sized robots used for industerial or military purposes would be a good sparing partner for the mech.

plus we need "unfinished" versions for lore purpose

Unfinished versions are unrigged so they are much, much easier to make.

I'm pretty familiar with dialog in general and the stealth suit dialog quest. I can put together a pretty good illusion of a AI

Oh this is a pic of a loader protectron. I was thinking a few of them would make good cannon fodder for teh mech. I'm thinking they are probably 12' tall maybe 15. They are bots, but can also be a mech. The cage on front will sit over a cockpit of sorts. I can't garuntee I can rig it correctly, but if I can it will give some variety in mechs. Still need to put on warning signs and the black caution stripes (would also love to have a klaxon/siren and a beeping when moving backwards). Here is a pic compared to a normal protectron (imagine it 2.5 times bigger).

I made over-sized claws for moving cargo, but I think I may make a revision to have one fork on each arm (the parts that fit under a pallet, with a forklift), then the protectron could use each fork as a bumper sword type, giant melee weapon. I also think I'll put struts on teh foot, much like a backhoe (or outrigger jack on a boom crane) uses to stabilize itself when digging.

Anyway, I'm slammed for Friday and probably Sat, but I'll most likely start plugging away at the mod Sunday.
