Hey guys, so I installed a number of worldspace enhancers, including Deserts of Anequina, Stirk, Tamriel Heightmaps, and plan on installing a few of the TWMP landscape add-ons.  I installed Tamriel Heightmaps a while ago, and it worked well at first, but now whenever I look at the land that was added by the mod I get these really strange rainbow-ish lod textures.

I'm not sure if it's my load order (which I will post below) but I have ran tes4lodgen countless times and that hasn't fixed anything.  If any of you guys have encountered this problem I would appreciate any help you could provide.  Thanks!

Note: In the second image I'm standing on a beach from the Deserts of Anequina mod

I have this exact problem with a new install of MCIslands (moocow)  with  no other mods running.

The land in the distance is rainbow colors(same as the pic in your link)  that turn 'normal' as you approach the colors -

other than the rainbow colors - its fine.

Can any one offer help as to why this occurs and possible solutions?

regenerating LOD does not help any.

OK, first: This has NOTHING to do with Tes4LODGen. the LODGen tool only updates the distant object data, in other words, what objects(e.g buildings and rocks) are displayed in the distant LOD.

Your problem are the textures of the distant landscape.
I've heard of this problem before, and I remember setting your video setting preset in the Oblivion Launcher to "High" or "Ultra" might help.
I can't exactly remember what is the cause of this, though.

Thanks for trying to answer this - every little hint helps.

I have played with various settings but to no avail yet.

I have seen this occur over the years of playing Olivion mods and have yet to find any one else on the 'net who has been able to give advice.

I know perfectly well that it is MY setup and thats why there is not much about it any where.

I'll keep plodding along and come back to the problem at some other time... meanwhile iF I solve it, I will come back and post the answer as I'm sure that eventually someone else will experience the same glitch/error/texture thingy.

The rainbow texture on distant landscape usually occurs when the game is set to small or medium textures, and only large textures are available in the mod's LOD.

Test by changing your video setting to large and see in the textures are then correct.  Then decide is you want to run large textures hereafter, live with the rainbow texture, or ditch the mod.  Mods labeled HD or something similar with typically only have large textures supplied.
