I understand the problems with what was stated from the reason your MOD was gone for so long, due to my own problem having been virus attacked through Steam and Nexus. We all love those little punk hack thugs that dump things into both, who have gotten through on Steam or Nexus.
I basically tested Aurora ingame. I use EFF 3.5.6 and my followers home selected is Proudspire Manor. I leave most of them there, since I have probably 20 right now from various MODs of custom characters, random NPC's from a MOD, etc. I have Vilja going through some of her quests and EFF makes it possible to keep her there as her home too. I may just upgrade to EFF 4.0 for this issue.
I installed Aurora, left everyone in Proudspire Manor and I went to Whiterun to visit. I had some conflicts. I did see the quest begin for Aurora beforehand, so had to back track a bit with saves and delete them to before, after uninstalling the Aurora MOD. The Vilja MOD could be a problem, since it has a separate quest setup. I noticed the same with Vilja and the Drow Female MOD Viconia Devir, some conflicts basically.
However, I did go to Whiterun and visit her. All was good, but may have some conflicts due to the Vilja Quest, Followers and EFF. I will figure this problem out later on what the conflict is about. I am glad to see this up on Nexus, nice work.
I know this is a lot to throw on the plate, but will figure it out. I liked her voice and look, since I use UNPB and all the MODs associated with UNP Redux (all prior MODs UNP, UNPB). I was able to exchange armor and a better weapon for her, before we began to head to Helgen. I had too many glitches at that point, because she was added as a follower to those I had left behind.
I have over 640 hours into Skyrim V and had to do some rebuilding after the virus problem hacks, but Im going to continue working on fitting Aurora into the game. It may take me some time.
