Type here any bugs you may find in regards to CB.

Some suggestions for people using windows 8. May or may not help. Worth trying.

This is on my end:
Currently running on windows 7
Multithreading enabled and multi core enabled
Games for WIndows LIve disabled,
latest .NET installed,
GOTY very 1.7 all DLCs that comes with the game (I had to update it manually as my version was initially 1.4 i think)
AA is off , shadows on, HDR on (but off makes no difference), VSynch off <- these settings don't make much difference
Mouse accel is off
Scissor is off ( fScopeScissorAmount=0 under [DISPLAY] this disables the overlays when using scopes that are too wide)
Im not on latest updates of windows 7 but works anyway.
GECK 1.4 latest version
Intel HD 4000 (this one gives me lots of crashes in GECK but not in the game)

I get a black screen whenever i click the custom start option, i can hear myself crouching so i know i am actually there i just cant see.

 

I am operating on windows 8 (this may be the source of the problem as i have heard about lots of people with windows 8 struggling with fallout)

I have plenty more that im not using at the moment but they are all inactive so i don't think i need to list them.

But the game without my mod works fine right? You can see intro and everything.

Hi,

 

I have a problem when I try to edit my face in gene projection. I can't see anything in the screen. I've checked your forums and I can't find anyone. I really wan't to play using this mod but I also want to make a character that looks like me. Please help.

you must be standing up when you choose gene projection (don't be sitting down on chairs). are you using any other mods? camera enhanced mod makes your face disappear from gene projection (download the latest version may fix this problem). use this http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/944/? archiveinvalidinvalidated and make sure you have fose installed.

I've got a rather annoying little bug that I'm sure is from FWE. I haven't tested it on normal but when I've got an alternate start game going about 3-4 minutes into the game my controls lock up. it will not except any inputs from my keyboard or mouse. I know it locks up and not freezes becuase of the last input I was telling my character was to run. after the keyboard lock they were still running and would not stop.

 

The offical Bethseda site (http://support.bethsoft.com/?i=280) mentions that this glitch happens to modded games. I was following Gopher (youtube) to install this mod along with others (I was up to his 5th modding video for Fallout 3).

 

up to that point I had only go into game just to see the mods were working. (couple of minutes at most just to check) I decided at that point to play a little longer and that's when this bug poped up.

 

I've tried a few things but nothing seem to fix it.

like the Multicore fix and complability on the FOSE.loader (window xp service 3)

 

any idea about what is causing this crash and how it might be fixed?

I have a feeling this is happening because the command DisablePlayerControls/EnablePlayerControls is used in a few scenes in CG00 and CG04 quests ie birth scene and Escape! quest and FWE is conflicting wth my mod.  More specifically the game is made so that these commands are used first disable controls show an in game cutscene then later controls get re-enabled. The CG (chargen tutorial (vault birth/growing up/escape)) quests are designed so the all continue where the other one left off.  I am also using this in my quest CB00 and it's continuing from the modified version of CG00 (ie FO3's default birth scene modified by me). So somewhere along the line you are missing the enable controls due to FWE modifying similar quests. 

Is this happening randomly or is it happening in a certain spot in the game?

Quick fix is simply type "EnablePlayerControls" in your console or "EnablePlayerControls 1 1 1 1 1 1 1" (7 ones)


EnablePlayerControls movement pipboy fighting 1st/3rdps looking rollovertext sneaking 
ex EnablePlayerControls 1 0 0 1 0 0 1 (enables movement, 3rd person, sneaking)


Let me know more information such as:
Is the mouse in the main menu working?
Is the keyboard is working? Can you type in the console?
Does this happen at a specific spot in the game?

Thanks for the suggestions earlier pity it didn't work.

You asked these 3 question at the end of your reply.

 

Here are the answers:

both keyboard and mouse work in the main menu at start up.

when the game freezes can't use console or esc to menu.

the freezes happen aprox 4 minutes in (not sure the exact time).

does not seem to be a specific location, more about a specific time into game on starting the game.

 

For Example I play for say 3 minutes and save before exiting the game. Then Play from that save it won't freeze after a minute. (save previously 3 minutes + minute of play)instead it will freeze four minutes into that save. (3 minutes + four Minutes then freezes)

 

when freezes no keyboard or mouse reponse, not even for menu's or console. Task Manger says game is still running. game still plays just can't use ANY controls.

 

I know it's not my computer cutting out because I can still get to task Manger  and shut the game down. so something is cutting off the controls completly to the point is seems like I've pulled out my keyboard and mouse.

 

any ideas?
