I have also experienced this bug. This was my experience.

I left her on-guard outside the Oasis as it isn't very companion-friendly and although things seemed fine when I returned and released her from guard by using the first dialogue option, the next time I tried to speak to her I could only get the line of "Hail" written dialogue followed by a freeze without the spoken dialogue starting.

I got her going again by using the re-hiring method described in the "readme" but before doing so, I tested XSoldier's workaround (using the save I'd made just before releasing her from being on guard), which I can confirm does appear to work.

As for a "resurrect" option I would be very careful trying that because after I had resurrected Sydney via the console in the middle of the Stealing Independence quest, which admittedly she is part of, it messed up the quest and I had to do it again.

Resurrect?

I haven't checked it just yet, but if it makes it easier than the clean save, then the resurrect command might cause a problem to her stats, hopefully not since it's a different case.

I say this because, before I downloaded a mod that makes the Caravan Merchants Essential, merely trying to resurrect them reset their repair level and unable to complete its unmarked quest (Merchant Empire).

I will somehow check this after i fix the stuttering radio that just recently arose again after installing the latest CCCP (basically, if i have the time or patience)

yep, using "resurrect" may very well nerf her stats. you can easily check this w/ console tho. click on her than type "getav smallguns" (or the stat u wanna check) and if it's down to like 5-30 (depending on your level) it probably got reset :(.
you can set them all back up w/ commands like "modav sneak 70" or the like, but all the console tweaking may be as annoying as a rehire lol.
there's a great mod called Groovy Followers

that'll let u check all her stats quickly. save, use it to make her a groovy follower, check stats, then reload to before using it. hope any of that helps!

As for the ressurecting problem, just find out her base id (Somehow) then use setessential. It should work.

:P Thanks, but i just found out- She actually has a "Set Essential" option in her utilites menu. There's me being lazy again :P

I have just checked the resurrecting aspect only, and i have to say that the Statistics are untouched. Upon rehiring her, her repair level was still at 100, which leads me to believe that upon death and resurrecting, she'll have the same repair level she had last time.

Of course do bear in mind that all gear she had is lost and reset, so you'll have to remember to take it away from her before it's lost.

The logical explanation why the repair level resets is because turning mods on and off resets it to the completely original state.

Even if the 'Set Essential' option is available through Jessi's choices, if she froze, you wouldn't be able to get into it, so the Set Essential console command should be known.

OK, I also have this bug and here is some more info that may help you track it down. First. I have NEVER used the Guard option. So it is NOT that. Also I rarely use and was NOT using the "wait" either when it happened.

I just downloaded some new mods and was investigating the Freeway Hide Out mod near Super Mart. Just going in and out of places like normal.

I have a dozen companions, so that may help you to know also. I was just checking everyone's ammo and such before heading off to a new place. walking, not fast. I approached Kelsey and then jessi. Jessi froze and I had to go back to an old save. I save OFTEN so it was not old old, but 15 minutes old and in the same place.

I noticed she was NOT following me either, so before I talked to her, I used the teleporter. But could NOT due to it being broken 100% all grayed out.

I will obviously get a new one when I rehire her, but this MAY be the real problem. Has anyone else noticed that her teleporter isn't working before you get the dialog freeze?

PS: How can I lose the party hat? Sheesh!!

Hey mate. Not sure why the party hat would break as its set to like massive health before it would break.

Did you leave it equip while fighting for a massive amount of time? Cause its an Hack it doesnt show up in your Backback for repair.

Next version I will add a script to remove it on porting and I will look into the breaking issue.


Btw if you are using V3.6 then Switch to V4 plz. V3.6 is soon to be deleted from the nexus and I Wont offer support for it any more. V3 is getting pretty old now tbh.

I am using the newest version as I JUST got this a couple days ago. I have 14 companions now and get that "you have too many" message all the time. Anyway, yes, I DID leave it "active". I was used to the Sydney radio which auto shuts off and so I didnt know I had to use and then shut off the Kelsey and Jessi devices.

She did lock up AGAIN yesterday. Before I saw this about shutting off the device. So, maybe, maybe not... have anything to do with why it happens.

I am still getting this lock up all the time now. I am going to delete her until fixed. I do not have any problems with Kelsey, so what are the differences in the code? Seems to be no reason for this.
