I tried to dig up as much as I could on Astrid. She has a sardonic wit but really she isn't a nice person no matter how you look at it. In a world of high fantasy I wanted to take that to an extreme and make her a more impressive villainous. I am glad you enjoyed it very much!

Woot, thanks so much for the nice comment. I will say my dogs were doing much the same thing, whining at me till 1am last night while I worked on this story. I had a lot of fun with it and have been working all month on this storyline. Looking forward to the next few chapters.

You used personified correctly for the most part, just need to change the order of the words a little. Perhaps written as "With Astrid's darkness and dreadful aura she is evil personified."

The red swamp is from one of the Skyrim weathers (Dead Man's Grotto) although I have edited in the CK to make it a bit more intense It will be used for some key parts in chapter 8.

Ah this means a great deal for me Corfus, as I know how busy you are. Really happy you enjoyed this story and the shots. I had a lot of fun with it but it took a ton of effort to pull together. Thanks for the motivation

Brilliant chapter Jonathan,

Your interpretation of Astrid was perfect. Her ego begging to hold power by controlling the will of those powerful around her. Her desire for control was blinded by her own ambitions. She was the pawn all along.

Grim showed immeasurable restraint to hold onto his soul for the sake of his loved ones. I thought for sure he had been taken when he had the blade to Astrid's throat. A true champion indeed.

The atmosphere was perfection. I loved the blood moon, brilliant concept.

Looking forward to the next chapter.

Appreciate the nice comment and feedback Mizzog. I tried to find the defining traits of Astrid as lore depicted her and then took them to their logical extremes. Pleased that I went in the right direction with her. A very long chapter I know but I just couldn't find a good place to break it up (short of a massive cliff hanger which I did not want to do). Thanks for checking out the story and images!
