I have a suggestion, don't know if this would be entirely possible.

The game is really dark now like in the early DSII build which is good, BUT the problem I now have is that there is almost no light source coming from the character w/o a torch. In DSI and in the DSII demo build there is a light source going out from the character even if you don't have a torch.

Watch minute 2:40 in this video to see what I mean

I have no clue about modding, I don't think this would be possible to accomplish though. :(

Are you aiming for the original lighting, because that would be the best. Here's some screenshots of what it used to look like: http://imgur.com/a/DDIm9

In response to post #14253323.

It was present in DSI so I guess they took it out later. If you use GEM on DSI (which is possible) you will see how well that would work.
Basically you get that now with the torch or without in a very reduced version. You will never be in total darkness unless there is nothing around you.

In response to post #14253568.

Sure, I like mature settings and this is what everyone asked for.
I will upload a comparison video in a second which shows Vanilla -> ENB -> GEM + ENB

It looks very similar to the original lighting, just try it out.

I downloaded everything. Where do I find the d3d9.dll that I'm being asked to extract?

Edit: I figured it out.

Suggestions: Installation is extremely confusing.
