@ lokimu: check the link in my last post. since this solution was provided by a dev, and that i specifically mentioned in that thread it potentially being done because of cutscenes, it seems odd that he would so casually provide a remedy that specifically contravenes an already stated problem.

can you tell me a specific conversation this happened during? i can check the cutscene actions in the toolset and perhaps locate the fault.

@ mutator: i've d/l'd 2 versions already and it says i can't endorse because i haven't dl'd it. : so +1.

I'll contact you directly to see what could be the cause of your problem. I'm confident, that none of the mods you mentioned have the potential to crash your game but well, we'll see. Maybe we can exchange savegames to narrow it down.

@Lokimu
Ok, I put it on my watchlist and try to get more information about it. For me it's paramount that none of the mods in the mutator cause any kind of troubles and if problems can be confirmed I'd either remove the mod or try to rewrite it. At the very least I'd need to elevate the risk level and add some info to the readme.

Does not seem to work. None of the options I Chose had any effect in game as far as I could tell (Display loot items did not happen). Is there a way to verify it puts the necessary files in the correct folders? As I don't know what it installs I cannot tell if it works right.

Interesting. The installer first looks if it can find your DA profile in the mydocuments tree. If it isn't able to find it there it will use the registry to discern where Dragon Age is installed and use the override there. If even that fails, it will allow the user to browse for the installation folder. Now, I think you didn't see any "browse for folder" dialog so please check the locations listed here:

[Dragon Age Installation Folder]packagescoreoverride
[Your documents folder]BioWareDragon Agepackagescoreoverride

There should be a subfolder called "mutator" and everything should be in there. If not, then contact me with a personal message and we'll sort it out.

Yes, I have added this on my rework list. The current code is very safe but therefore a bit fragile. If anything could cause a problem it doesn't do anything rather than causing bugs.

You will be very, very pleased with my new specialization unlocker. It will instantly unlock all specializations without the need to do anything, it won't touch your achievements in any way, it will be limited to your current savegame, the chances for conflicts with other mods are slim and there is no scripting involved, that could screw up anything. It's now 05:00 AM here but it was worth it. I'll release it after I had my fair share of sleep and after some more testing. I even have ideas for about a dozen more mods so I might add some of them too.

I'm pleased to present the Dragon Age Beguiler. With this the unlocking of specializations can be done directly from within the game and in the safest way possible.
