Kane grunts again at the telepathic message, his eyes shifting from each person within the camp, he heads towards Caughthorn's tent while sending a message back to Ralaith yet not privately.

Whomever the traitor is...no one is to react irrationaly...if they do and attack the one that is the traitor they shall deal with me, remember they don't know they are being controlled, we are a team to the end, it may mean that we don't have to like each other but it does mean we need to work together...I'd rather work with someone I disliked than lose the one I dislike who could be a great assist to the team...we are but only 8 people with skills, we need all 8...not 7 but I shall say this...if someone attacks another within this group...I shall make the group into 6...so bottle up your anger now and save it for the real enemy which are the culprits of this cruel plot

Without hesitation he walks into Caughthorn's tent, nodding in respect to the cleared leader of the camp.

"Ralaith has found the traitor and shall be revealing him in here...but I must ask, I find it rather odd that you have no guards around here or stationed nearby...may I ask why?"

"I think I told someone. I am under the protection of the Daerda Lord Boethiah. It is hard to kill me and if I am alert hard even to injure me. Unfortunately the last thing I was expecting was one of you attacking me. The sleep spell used on you came from Boethiah and should have been impossible to break. Clearly Oblivion is getting stronger. That is a frightening prospect indeed. When Boethiah cannot protect me I will surely be killed."

Kane nods but grins pacing up and down throughout the tent, while he was alone, he could question Caughthorn himself, not out of spite but out of curiousity.

"Ah, Boethiah, The daedric prince of deceit, conspiracy, secret plots of murder, assassination, treason and unlawful overthrow of authority...such a nice lord I must admit. However I couldn't judge you on the lord you serve surely...yet it seems quite strange you know so much...do you believe us for doubting you? that you were the traitor...come on most things were unexplainable and sometimes pointed to you, but if evidence does point to one of us then I apologise...anyways I have had an idea for the assault on the tower...I still have yet to pass it past the others and shall do so once the traitor has been purified.

Kane can't help but smirk, he was glad he swiped the book of daedra on his earlier travels.

Dur-Colath grunts and heads to Caughthorns tent and sit down waiting for the others. "bout damn time we found out who this traitor is. Now we can get on with this mission." Dur-Colath unsheaths his Tanto "Just incase the poor 'victim' is unwilling to be cured" Dur-Colath was unwilling to chance the fact that the victim was unwilling. "If it will ease everyone we could use the sheet from my bedroll to tie the legs of all of us, that way if the 'victim' is unwilling to be cured he cannot attack any of us before we attack them."

(OOC: I have a long day at work tomarrow so I wount be able to post till 8pm EST, I think that is 12midnite acoording to the forum clock.)

"This will have both positive and negative effects," he sends his thoughts to Aldhelm, "as the being within one of us had its own potential. Although we will remove the obvious threat of a traitor or a spy, we will also remove something that could be used against the Daedra. Once they are aware of this entity's destruction or removal, they will be more alert and prepared for our arrival. On the other hand, if we were to detect the entity without it knowing, we could pass false information to the Daedra through it, such as a false attack time or point of entry. Now that I think about it, perhaps as measures are taken to neutralize this threat, either you or one of the other magic users could analyze the entity. Perhaps create one of our own to send into the tower. Turning the magic of Oblivion back against them...that will be what they least expect. However if this is possible it is for you or the other magic users to discover, I have no idea where to begin in such a task.

Happy that the mystery would finally be solved, Ice walks into Caughthorn's tent and stands in a corner, awaiting the outcome.

OOC> If any of you had lost a Detect Enchantment item it is back and can be used.

On Topic

Caughthorn looks at the impatient Ice. "I have answered all questions I know the answers to already. If I have not given a view it is because I do not know the answer. Well, perhaps I did not answer the one about the tower needing to be intact but why ask it? The empire wants the rift closed above anything else. Destroying the daedric power bases is part of the process. I can't imagine they care one way or the other about a building that was thrown together in a matter of days the first time it was built. I will however repeat that you should not approach along the main path. Use the mountains. It will take longer but it can still be done in a few hours and, as long as you aren't foolish, will be safer. Once you get to the tower your means of entry is up to you."

OOC> You will not need to role play the journey but you will need to be aware of the geography of the site from your arrival point.

On Topic

Caughthorn says: "I can give a more detailed description of the site as you approach from the mountains. You will be arriving from the south. Although there is no path a good tracker or scout will find an animal run that crosses the final hill south of the tower. This hill was quarried for stone when the tower was built and from the brow of the hill it would be possible to leap onto the tower if you have a tinur's hoptoad spell or some other enhancement. There could be other ways to cross too - levitate, using a grapple and so on. Perhaps if your friend is the vampire you say he is, he could fly. You would need to take the final part of the climb carefully in case there are daedric minions watching from the top of the tower."

He pauses to think. The descent from the hill to the bottom of the tower is not so far - perhaps the equivalent of four storeys - and can be done as a rather undignified slide. It would help at this point to use concealment as you certainly can't get down that way in silence. The animal run winds down more gently but initially at least you lose sight of the toweras it zigzags back up a small valley. The ground entrance is on the western side of the tower and the main path runs east-west on its northern side. The hills are close to the tower on the east as well as the south sides but at a greater distance and below the top of the tower. The area outside the gate and the part to the north are flat and stony and without any form of concealment."

He sighs. "I have no idea how many daedra there are above ground. Not many I would guess as they are not fond of being in the open if there are alternatives available. There may or may not be a guard at the top but there are some in the ground floor of the tower. They wil emerge when their magical traps are triggered but that will not happen if you go via the mountain. They will emerge to investigate noises and the moment you become visible on the flat area around the entrance. One final point. If and when you control the roof of the tower you will have a fine view of the path but none of the area at the bottom of the tower walls. If you intend to use archers to help in any battle to gain access via the doors they needs must keep off the tower. I hope that gives you enough to formuate your plan."

Erunanion listened to Ralaith searching the tents - he would have helped but Ralaith seemed to discover what he was looking for before he could. Standing over Aldhelm as he worked on the potions, Erunanion casually laid his hand upon his sword handle. He waited patiently beside Aldhelm while he finished the potions. He heard Ice suggest keeping the victim, apparently Aldhelm, within Daedric control. He would not advise doing such a thing - if we are approaching the tower by a secret road having someone with them who could communicate their position totally negated taking the hidden path.

Caughthorn's detailed description of the tower was very useful. It seemed the group were set on spliting in two to attack the tower. Had Erunanion been in a party made up solely of warriors, he would have opposed such a tactic. But as it was, he had to agree that several of their number were unsuited to a stand-up fight with the Daedric hoard. He said, while still keeping an eye on Aldhelm, "If we are indeed to separate in our assault on the tower, I believe that I should accompany the more stealthy group that attack from the top of the tower. I can be nimble and silent when I need to be, but more importantly of the three who would be going that way none can truely say that they can stand toe-to-toe with demon and win. I am sorry if I impune your skills, but you will need someone who can fight as a warrior if stealth fails."

DUr-Colath smiles at Erunanion "I have had experence fighting golden saints. Did for a mage who needed them for soulgems. So that was why I wasnt to worried about going to the tower alone to scout it out eariler."

Dur-Colath still looking at Erunanion continues,"While your sword arm will be welcomed, Those of us who will be going to the tower first will be moveing swiftly and silently. I think the tower group should be us Bosmer because we are natually slent. While you are a Dunmer and it looks like you could move silently in need, but your longbow may be of more use in the front were it will help in provieding cover for our living battering rams."

"Of cource all of what I say is just my opition and all of us need to decide on our cource of action."

I dont like the ideal of keeping the person under the control of the deadra intact Ice. Once we get to the tower things will be moveing too fast for one of us to keep an eye on the traitor and it will be there where it could do the most harm. Best to cure them now and have their full support rather then just use them as a means of misinformation. Besides I seriously doubt we have a mage in our group strong enough to control such a creature.

"now where is the rest of our brave group? We need to flush out this traitor and get rid of their Deadra infulence."

(OOC:I'm glad Malchik could post before he left for work, now I need to get ready to do the same, have fun guys. I'll post as soon as I can.)

Gnaag heard Ralaith's message about finding of culprit's indentity. Shivers shaked his body. The moment of revelation was near. What if he is tainted. He decided very quickly. He went to his tent where he still had some of his equipment. The ground of it was visibly very well examined. He packed everything he might need.

Then Gnaag looked care discreetly out of his tent. No one was on his sight. He just wanted to step outside when he got an idea. They should now something about him in case he wasn't a traitor. He tore a piece of his shirt and wrote this note on it:

"Goodbye. I really enjoyed the whole situation here, but now I think our routes should divide. I wasn't born to be killed either here for being tainted or in Tower by some brutal daedra. But be sure I will spread your fame in every tavern and camp I will visit. Please don't try to track me down."

After it Gnaag looked one more time on tent's inn and stepped outside it. No one could be seen. But he had to make up some excuse in case he met someone. He chosen a small path to north. It seemed quiet, he thought it was calling for him. He got to the border of the camp. He looked backwards. He would regret it greatly, but that fun wasn't the right for him. So he turned and went. But unfortunately he didn't know that he was going just towards the Tower.

[OOC]I am not leaving the game. My character just succumbed the paranoia and fled the camp. It is up to Malchik whether he will reach the tower or not.[/OOC]

"Wait, don't misunderstand me, I never said that we should let the person remain under control of the Daedric being. That would serve no purpose but to alert the enemy to the exact time of our attack. I meant that if it was possible, it would be useful to control a similar being and use it against the Daedra. But as soon as this thing is removed or destroyed, the Daedra awaiting us in the tower will be more alert because they have lost their source of information. Regardless, I've given it a lot of thought and I think I've discovered the best plan of attack with our given information. It's not perfect of course but it should work."

He ponders to himself: "Yes, it would be best to attempt this now, while the being can still observe us. It will create confusion within the enemy and may tip the scales in our favor."

"We'll all approach it from the hidden trail and use whatever means necessary to access the roof. Entering from there, we should be able to take the Daedra by surprise and bottleneck them at the entrance to the roof."

"Hmmm...if they concentrate their forces there, they'll expose...it's risky, but then they'll be...it's our best shot," he ponders to himself again. Then awaits the results from the potion.
