I personally would like to see a mod at least exploring what happened to NYC. Although, for most intents and purposes, there are a few things standing in the way:

1. Building Meshes.

2. No Fallout info on the northeast

3. NYC probably got hit hard when the nuclear war happened.

4. Huge project - I can't say enough that, if you wish to seriously do this mod and see it to completion, you will have to do a professional job of it in terms of organizing a team and committing to it - this includes paying up for and using some kind of Version Control.

5. Compatibility. GTS is up in the air still, so there's no telling what's going to happen with it, but it really is a useful resource, and anyone making a mod for a new location in Fallout 3 really should be involved in GTS first.

You have a lot of challenges - Plan, plan, plan, and then work, work, work.
