@Shadow of Doom
1) Make sure you have .NET 3.5 installed, especially if it is crashing at initial startup. This is the most common cause of crashes at this time, as the program requires the .NET 3.5 runtimes.
2) If this is not your problem, then the first thing I recommend doing is going to the support site and downloading the latest beta which is currently 2.1.2 -- this has some bug fixes that have fixed some issues since the 2.0 release.
3) If it is still crashing after upgrading to the latest beta, then please make a post on the support site explaining what you were doing when it crashed, and also attach to the post a copy of the "damodder.log" file you will find in the directory you run the program from (This log file only exists in the latest beta).

Hmm I do not see a configuration tab and the tool translates all mods to German. Why? Yes I live in Germany but my whole game and PC is configured to English. Can we please choose ourselves what language to use?

@TheMutator:
This is the first program I see (and considered using) which needs .NET 3.5. I never met this requirement before. So it surprises me that it seems so widely used. Perhaps it's because my knowledges of programming lie more in scientific and administrative use, where .NET lacks an important feature *cough*. As of now, since I simply don't meet the .NET 3.5 requirements, I can only hope there'll be an alternative and this doesn't become a must-have.

The only time I write code in Java is if i'm being held at gunpoint. I HATE that language. I'd rather write this in Basic.
As for .NET, I guess I don't see why you would intentionally leave an older version of it on your computer rather than upgrading it. Do you normally leave Windows out of date as well? I don't mean new version of Windows, just keeping whatever version you have updated. Same with .NET really. At the very least you are leaving your computer exposed to security issues that have been fixed since 2.0
Making this work under .NET 2.0 would require some rewrites -- nothing extreme at the moment but it would require more code, as a lot of the utility classes, especially .LINQ aren't available in 2.0. But still it isn't something i'm willing to do right now for the same reason I wouldn't write a game for DirectX5. All it would do is limit me from taking advantage of newer, better, features. Honestly .NET 3.0 is where .NET actually started being a decent library.

That explains the .NET problem of course and since this isn't a grave problem (I can live without it honestly) and because of low demand, I don't think it important. When I once tried myself on .NET personally, I thought it horribly inconsistent and restricted. I avoided it since then, so I'm far from neutral on that point but I don't think that's important here. As of my unwillingness on "updating": It is no unwillingness but an impossibility. Look at the system requirements, if you want to know why ... I can't meet them for business reasons, I'm afraid.
Do you publish source code?

I didn't realize .NET 3.5 had any noticeable system requirements, unless you aren't running Windows XP maybe?
Once the software has matured to a more stable and feature complete version I do intend to publish the source. But right now things are changing to rapidly that I can keeping it private until they settle down.

Beta 2.2.3 has been released on the support site. The new mod manager core is in place and most of the bugs have been ironed out of it now. Localization is back in, and you can choose what language you want to use.
