In response to post #13172113.

I have a folder in My Documents in which I put everything I download from here to keep track and everything in it's own subfolder. Unzip the file into your subfolder using 'extract to here'. This should give you a dazip file. I usually double click on it which brings up the DAUpdater to install the content. Otherwise the updater should be in your c: program files(86)/dragon age/bin_ship and go from there. I'm not sure about nexus etiquette in answering you as it isn't my mod but as I was here and had this trouble at starting, why not? Good luck.

Uhhhh this is probably a stupid question but here it goes:

Do I also add [xatmos] before all the other settings to the dragonage.ini file?

Thanks!

This mod works perfectly. I don't know how people have trouble installing it when the instructions are so great.
I've only encountered one door that I couldn't open, despite having high enough stats (according to my ini adjustments). No biggie, got a rogue to come and do it. Otherwise the mod is amazing.

I can't seem to get the mod to work. Idk if its the specific doors or chests or what but I can't bash anything in the human noble origin. I downloaded it with nexus and saw that it wasn't working. I saw other people were getting it to work with DAUpdater. Where is that? I can't find it anywhere. Idk I'm relatively new to nexus so if anyone could help me out it would be appreciated.

EDIT: Nvm I think I found it.

Yeah the install instructions are kind of vague for people who are not familiar with installing DA mods. Can someone PLEASE be kind enough to break it down step by step? Pulling the files out of the .rar to get a DAZIP file doesn't do jack. It gives me an unknown filetype, that can't be read.

- Manually download the archive under Main Files, i.e. do not use the Nexus Mod Manager. You should have an archive called 'Lock Bash v7e for Original and Awakening-301.7z'

- Decompress the 7-Zip archive. Inside the resulting folder will be two DAZIPs. One is for DAO, the other is for DAA. Install one or both as desired. The native DAUpdater (located in the game directory bin_ship folder) will do the job, though I prefer to use the 3rd party DAO Modmanager, as that will also do a clean uninstall of most DAZIP mods.

- After installing the DAZIP(s), the mod requires configuration via an edit of the DragonAge.ini file, which is located in the \My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings folder. MAKE A SAFE BACKUP COPY OF THE FILE BEFORE EDITING!!!!

- Open the DragonAge.ini file in a TXT editor. (Notepad works fine.) Copy/paste the configuration text from the mod description into the INI, at the very bottom. Include the '[xatmos]' header! Set the desired parameters for the mod behaviour, referring to the mod description for guidance on what each option does. Save the edited INI to the \My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings folder.

- Play Dragon Age. Bash Locks.

That would be because of the way you have your rig's default file-associations established.

Nothing any mod author can do about that... :dry:

The author's instructions looked complete, correct, and straight forward to me:

Extract DAZIPs.
Install with \Dragon Age Origins\bin_ship\daupdater.exe.

-- Configuration ---

Open DragonAge.ini, found in:
\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings

And add the following lines to the bottom:

[xatmos]
BashChestsOnly=0
BashJustBash=0
BashAchievement=0
BashEXP=1
BashCanRogue=1
BashCanWarrior=1
BashCanWizard=1
BashCanOther=1
BashNoRequirements=0
BashItemBreakNotice=1
BashItemBreakChance=MEDIUM
BashStatRogue=DEXTERITY
BashStatWarrior=STRENGTH
BashStatWizard=MAGIC
BashStatOther=STRENGTH
BashDifficulty=NORMAL

And with 34,106 Unique D/Ls, and 1,081 Endorsements, (as of today) that appears to have been enough for thousands of players.

Really great mod, I can't tell you the glee and satisfaction I felt when Sten swung his sword and OBLITERATED a chest I couldn't unlock. Thanks for a lovely mod! <3
