*Heavily panting* Ritz shouts;"Guys, can ya hurry a bit!" She's given up on attacking to preserve the little energy she has left, only focusing on defending herself. She's about to pass out at any moment due to exhaustion from the swim to the island, not having enough recovery time, and general lack of sleep.

She then notices the effect that even touching Auriel had had on Esha and rushes to the boy, while quickly nailing, even if only for a short time, the lichdame from it's leg to floor with her dagger.

"Let's hope what I saw is right.";Ritz says. She touches Auriel to see if she'd gain a similar energy boost. She felt how all her fatigue disappeared."I hope this doesn't have any bad side-effects on the kid, but using him in this situation can't be helped. Quickly try and restore Druce back to his strength. I can hold off the lichdame for that time with no problems at all.";She says and gives off a small smirk.

Ritz puts up a defensive stance that doesn't allow the lichdame to move forward at all, thus making it unable to target the other members of the party for the duration.(As long as they're behind her that is.) She focuses on defense and rending the target 'immobile' until the others are prepared to fight, solo-offense is simply a waste of energy.

Esha has also grabbed with the boy some bed linen. She quickly begins to tie it about herself and around the boy...making an impromtu carrying device for the boy...so that he can be tied to here back of sorts so she can have her hands free.

"Help me Ritz..." she says. "We must get out of here...hopefully it is daylight outside...this will help destroy the lichdame."

Esha begins to frantically pray to her Great Goddess in a language none of the others understand.....and the moon tattoo on her forhead begins to glow....

"Help Druce first, I think he passed out. I'll hold off the lichdame until you've used the kid to revive him. Hurry, I don't want to fight this foul smelling chimpanzee for the rest of the day! Once Druce is up, we'll head outside.";Ritz shouts while fending off the lichdame with relative ease, however there is no guarantee how long it can be kept up before the lichdame gets in a lucky hit and she's out for the count or needs to lend the Auriel's power again.

The lichdame suddenly seems to gain a huge amount of power. She grabs at Ritz tearing out her right arm, which she instantly begins to devour.

The scene is horrifying beyond belief.

OOC> please indicate the immediate reaction at the sight (or in Ritz's case the pain) followed by your next move. And you will gain by being honest in reactions not superhuman.

Esha gasps in horror at the sight of Ritz's now single-armed torso. Blood is everywhere and Esha almost swoons at the sight. She reaches down and grabs the boy full intending to toss him to the LichDame to save Ritz when the boy comes in contact with Ritz....

Ritz says softly;"Just make sure to survive..." and faints immediately after due to the immense amount of pain, she drops to the ground numb, limp, without even hearing the screams of others. Her blood is gushing out fast and major blood loss is likely to kill her very quickly.

(OOC>This is interesting. I'm really interested in what happens next. Was over at my grandmas place since yesterday so I didn't have net access. Back home now. )

Druce feels the world coming back to him. At first it is a haze, but it then turns into a crystal clear view of the events at hand.

Ritz has lost her arm, and the lichdame is starting to devour it. Druce has an idea as how to save her, but he would need to act fast.

He sends a blast of magic at the lichdame, stunning it briefly, making it drop the arm. He then picks up the arm and brings it over to Ritz and lays it where it should go.

"Use the boy," is all he says to Esha.

He then turns towards the monster at hand, and a bright light glows at the end of his staff.

"Begone Demon!" he yells.

Suddenly everything vanishes in a blinding light...

Druce sees in his mind's eye exactly how it will go. Unfortunately, with no experience of lichdames he does not realise how little affected it is by magic. The creature does drop the arm but has snatched it back before he can get near. The suggestion to use the boy however is a good one. As Esha pushes Auriel into Ritz, the girl's arm grows back even before the other has disappeared into the lichdame's stomach.

The gasps and yells, the fizzing of magic has no effect on the lichdame but they doon Auriel who opens his eyes and stars straight at the lichdame. He puts out his hand and touches the creature. For a moment the beautiful and sad Damiel is there, then she flees into her own room. Auran appears in the doorway. He too seems careworn.

"You should have stayed with Auriel. She will not attack her own or anyone with them. So now you know our terrible and tragic secret, why we remain here in this eternal pointless non-life forever. Come, it is early morning. Damiel will not transform again tonight. Since you have seen the results of my folly I will answer your questions as best I can."

Auran sounds close to tears. He looks at his son with love and affection. "How we have destroyed your life. I would do anything to atone."
