I think what Axman36 is refering to is your inability to swing the camera around you without actually turning around. When you are running away, you have to turn around and face the opposite direction to see what's coming behind you. You can do this, but you have to stop and go in reverse in order to do it. Then to turn back to your original direction to see where you are going, you have to stop and turn around again. This makes you more vulnerable to being caught by whatever is chasing you. Wouldn't it be nice if you could look behind you without stopping (as in Knights of the Old Republic and various other RPG's)?

I would certainly welcome the ability to do that.

applaud you for the mod,
though it makes the camera too tight for me.

Re axman36, btindall:

You can toggle the free-flying camera on and off in the console with the command "tfc" (without the quotes). This lets you move and point the camera anyplace you want (including through solid walls), without moving the player. Unfortunately, in this mode you CAN'T move the player, so it wouldn't be very helpful for looking behind you while running away.

I don't use the 3rd person camera often (only when contemplating my photogenic idle character), as I am also used to FPS games like Doom and such. I personally find that many 3rd person camera swinging around like an elastic makes controlling the character much more harder than a direct view, and I never understood those game designers insisting upon trying to market such inappropriate controls - as if they were intentionally trying to make people sick (I think one of the first games to use that type of swinging control was Tombraider, and I hated that game because of this). The only type of 3rd person camera control which I find very good is the one used in Diablo II. But I'll give it another try, thanks to your mod.

This seems like a good idea. I'll definitely have to try this mod out.

@ btindall ( and anyone else that hasn't figured this out...)
If you hold down the button you use to switch to third-person you can keep running in a straight line while rotating your third-person view. (also works with the middle mouse button. rtfm :] )

Thanks!

I to get motion sick (especially when I ride a horse) with the default cam. Although my brain is getting used to it, this is SO much better!

Thanks a thousand times! I can finally enjoy this game a bit more. :)

10/10!
