I want to make a simple mod that takes spells like cone of cold and flame blast and makes the animation and area of effect larger.
Making spells have a larger AOE

I have a possible answer but I actually do not know for sure if it works because I cannot test it. (My hard drive failed and so my computer is non operational
) Under the ABI_base.xls you can modify spells and abilities. The section aoe_type tells you whether or not it is a circle (if number 1) or cone (if number 2). Two sections past that is aoe_param1. This is, I think, what you need to change. The number changes the radius of the circle or degree arc of the cone.
In case you are really new to 2da's you have to open them with Excel (or the Open Office variant that is free). You can look at the wiki for more info if you need it.

Hey, I have tried to do the same, and with mixed results. I can extend both the range and degrees of the spell. however the icon which shows target area does not reflect the change in degrees. that was poorly worded but i hope you undertand. objects in the new area of effect get highlighted however the ground icon does not change. anyone know how to get this to work?
