Yes, you can marry Alistair and rule at his side if you wish. You're still called Queen though (which makes some of the responses you can give to Alistair utterly hilarious).

You need a utility like "7-zip" to extract the archive; www.7-zip.org; it's freeware. Choose your 7-zip download wisely; depending on your Windows OS (either 32-bit or 64-bit).
Make sure you have the Equal Love mod on your harddrive.
Once you've installed 7-zip simply double-click with the leftmousebutton on the ZIP archive to extract; or rightclick on the zip file to bring up a contextmenu, then select to use 7-zip. Before you click OK, check the path where the archive is going to extracted to; this is where you will find the files you will need to install. For further installation instructions see the DESC tab of the Equal Love mod.

Can anyone please help? I'm trying to romance alistair as a male elf. I just got to Redcliffe and the female only romance options aren't showing up during the dialogue chat. The forum states that (Female only) You're a prince. Somehow I find that very... thrilling. Approves (+2) (Romance initiated) can be said but I don't have the option. Is there an issue with the mod? Or can I romance him another way?

You have to raise his approval enough first before that dialogue (or any of the other "romance-triggering"ones) is an option.

Even after I have uninstalled this- the companions still act as if this one is active when it is not.. D: any idea on how to fix this?

This a dumb question, but I just wanna make sure because I didn't understand the description very well.
I'm a female Dalish Elf, and this will unlock romance options for Morrigan, right? Meaning I get to sleep with her (hopefully yes). And I can get her gift and she'll confess her feelings too? God I hope so.
