I own Oblivion and have just gotten into mods. Trying to figure out how to get these to work properly, I have had to re-install Oblivion several times because something along the way has gotten messed up. So now I am starting with the most basic (and yet most troublesome), figuring those out first, and then working up to bigger and better things. I currently have installed:
Beautiful People
HGEC Body
Male Body Replacer

Beautiful People and Male Body Replacer are conflicting.

When starting a new character, there are two versions of every custom race: one with eyes, and one without.

I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to fix this error.

Nequam's Ainmhe race has actual ainmheEye____.___ files in the Data/Meshes/Characters folder; the other races do not.

The Ainmhe race still has two versions, but because it actually has eye files, both of the versions have eyes and so are exactly the same.

So finding eye files to use for the other custom races shouldn't be too hard; but is there any way to get rid of the double races?

Not that it'll really be much of a problem - I can just choose the version with eyes and never see the race selection screen again - but it would be nice to get everything in proper working condition.

1. Never, ever, use BP2.2-RM compatibility plugin. Unless you installed Elaborate Eyes before, you will see 'Black Eyes'(missing eye meshes or textures).
2. Body replacer plugin(the only purpose of the plugin is assigning individual body textures per race) will conflict with any cosmetic mod, because both try to edit same 'RACE' record. If you want to make them work together, you'll need to make a merged plugin, or use Wrye Bash to build bashed patch(good way to make several mods work together if it's done properly).

Most eye problems are related to having too many 'beauty' type mods installed. Each one wants to control how the eyes look and you get something strange. black eyes, no eyes, googly eyes, strange color etc. Look for mods such as 'beautiful people' and any custom race mod. disable all of them and see if you get the vanilla eyes back. Then reinstall the mods one at a time until you find the one that is causing the problem.

Beautiful People was one of the early mods that changed eyes, and many of the later mods used a different technique causing a conflict resulting in strange eyes. Some race and body mods change the eyes while others do not.

Yes, thank you, I've researched Oblivion mod eye problems and I know which mods are causing the error.

I've decided to uninstall Beautiful People and instead install each piece of it separately. My guess is Elaborate Eyes was causing the problem, and that's not something I really need, so that leaves the custom races, modified hairstyles, and the special vision toggles. So far, I've installed Ren's Beauty Pack with Mystic Elves, and everything is working fine. I will post an update when I know exactly which of the mods are safe to use together, with HGEC and MBR.

My guess is the custom beast races will not work with the body replacers, as they would need a separate nude/underwear mesh of their own, and I have not enough talent, time, or patience to make one myself. And, like I said, Nequam's Elaborate Eyes was probably causing the aforementioned double-race problem. As of this moment, I see no reason why any of the other mods should have a problem - but I guess I'm about to find out.

Results of Individual Installation

Ren's Beauty Pack -- Works fine.
Ren's Mystic Elves -- Works fine.
Grimdeath and Syko Fox's Tang Mo -- Works fine, but torso loses details (fur) when nude - because of basic, improv mesh.
Theodic Marthil's Skyrim Khajiit -- Works fine, but torso loses details (stripes) when nude - because of basic, improv mesh.
Nequam's Ainmhi -- Works fine. This duplicates both the
Ainmhi version of Ren's Beauty Pack -- Duplicates both the Ainmhi and Mystic Elf race. Both versions have working eyes. Ren's hairstyles do not work. The first hairstyle shows up, and the rest of them appear the same.
Capucine's Character Expansion -- Creates two versions of the Dremora race, both the same. Gives wood elves black eyes.
Capucine's Colorable Beast Hair -- Works fine.
Com's Argonian Headsets -- Works fine.
Trigger190's Bald Hairstyle -- Works fine.
KyneTarse's Special Vision Toggles -- Works fine.
Muppet917's Akavir and Dremora -- Works fine.
Nequam's Elaborate Eyes -- Works fine with default and custom human races. However, Tang Mo, Skyrim Khajiit, and Akavir custom races have improperly alligned "google" eyes. Dremora race has disappeared altogether.

Summary

Duplication of races was only experienced only with the Ainmhi version of Ren's Beauty Pack and with Capucine's Character Expansion, which was not on the original list. Every time races were duplicated, both versions had eyes. Unusual, google, or black eyes were only experienced with Capucine's Character Expansion, which was not on the original list, and Nequam's Elaborate Eyes, which gave it only to Tang Mo, Skyrim Khajiit, and Akavir races. Strangely, the Dremora race disappeared completely with CCE.

Conclusion

When the separate pieces to MidnightVoyager's Beautiful People mod were installed separately, the same error previously mentioned was not experienced at all. However, similar minor errors were experienced with Nequam's Elaborate Eyes and with additional expansions on the original mods, namely, the Ainmhi version of Ren's Beauty Pack and Capucine's Character Expansion.
