I have given this file my endorsement.

Emma you have done a wonderful job on this companion! I would have loved to have one of your companions when I was playing MWind.

Vilja is beautiful! And I LOVE, LOVE her voice, accent and pronunciation! Don't you change a thing! Her voice only adds to her charm.

She's been playing in the makeover box, lol Left you some screenies. She's so lovely regardless of what she wears.
Thank you so much for this wonderful addition to my little companion family! :) Kudos to you!

Thank you :)

And thank you for the lovely pictures you added to her gallery - it is much appreciated, I truly enjoy seeing new versions of her (one player has even converted her to an argonian, she is sooo pretty - I wish he would post the picture here :)).

As for Morrowind... if you still have the game, it's not too late to re-play it, with or without companions ;).
It may not have the graphics of Oblivion, but the storyline is wonderful and there are so many mods that improves every aspect of it.
To me, it's still the no 1 RPG out there, although Oblivion surely also makes it to my top 5 list.

I'm with you Emma, Morrowind was the best I'd played since running through all the Diablo versions I could get my hands on. I know I played it well over a year, until I got a computer that could handle Oblivion.

Took me a bit of getting used to playing Oblivion. It seemed "dumbed down" a bit from MW. I miss it. I may go back to it, but Oblivion has me totally captivated right now, especially now that I've learned to add mods. I just never get tired of it, even when I need to be doing other things, lol

You're very welcome for the feedback and screenies. I'll add more from time to time. I love taking them! I'd love to see that Argonian transformation! Now that IS a makeover, lol

Keep doing what you're doing girl, cause you do it so well! Adding you to my friends list for being nice enough to get back to all your posters with a personal reply. That is refreshing and much appreciated! :)

I have given this file my endorsement.

Going Through My Download History to give Endorsements to all the Worthy Mods/Utilities I'm using. Great Work!

Thank you :).
It's good of you to take the time to go back and give endorsements to mods you have liked. As Nexus is so huge, with such an amount of downloads, it's one of the very few chances for players to find what they are looking for. (Although I guess the endorsement system is also slightly misleading - surely mods must be more sophisticated today, with all existing utilities, than they were back in 2006, but regardless it is unlikely that any excellent mod created 2009 would ever gain more endorsements than a relatively good mod made 2006-2007).

To be honest, even I am captivated by Oblivion now, I still have so much to explore. :)
But the first time I played it, back in 2006, I did the mistake of playing the main quest, and it bored me very quickly. Now I don't go anywhere near Kwatch or Jauffre, and that way the game has plenty to offer and wonderful, non-Oblivion-gate-affected places to explore.

I'm looking forward to more of your screenshots later on :).

This is how the argonian version of Vilja looks. Sweet, isn't she? :)

@Ulbrecht, try getting OBMM-Oblivion Mod Manager. That will handle the rar and 7z files well. 7 Zip File Manager will open those files too, I think they are the same thing (.rar and 7z). It's worth it to get those both, make your life a lot easier with many mods.

Also when you see a mod that is "OMOD ready" it means the OBMM will be able to automatically transfer in the data so you can easily make the OMOD and activate it. I believe those files are here, just do a search and they should turn up. Bben46 from Storm Raven Library has instructions on how to use OBMM too if I'm not mistaken. Good luck! Once you get the hang of it, it's not hard at all.

On Vilja, I did have to import the files into OBMM as data files, rather than use the archive (plug-in). Not sure why, but some mods are just that way, even when they are OMOD ready.

You know, I started the main quest, but almost a year later have yet to finish it. I got too caught up in mods and exploring the other many things to do. I don't want it done yet. Maybe I'll never finish it, lol Who knows!

And yes, that Argonian is just so cute! I've already directed my friend over here to get Vilja. She's too sweet to be missed in any form! :)

A few days ago I mentioned an incompatibility issue with the WACShop mod.

I have now uploaded an update that should cure this for those who want to use both the mods without having to go into the Construction set. If you don't use WACShop you don't need the update.

I think the Oblivion gates that started to plague the world sort of 'forced' me to do the main quest. That's why I now avoid to start it! There are better things to do in Cyrodiil than running into pinkish monster worlds! I simply pretend that the meeting with the emperor was a nightmare I hade while I was in prison.

I hope your friend will like Vilja, too! :)

Ulbrecht, I hope you could follow NetWits instructions to unzip the file. If not, I have got some useful links to tools here

Once you have unzipped the files, be aware that you have to pick one of the esp-files - essential or non-essential version of Vilja - and put in your Oblivion Data folder!

Good luck :)

Emma, after testing I may have found that the book gathering is part of the AI you gave her. Fortunately the fix is very simple if I'm right. (See the very end of this comment for the short version.)

I haven't personally seen her do that because I haven't let her wander yet, but I left Dublin from "Heart of the Dead" behind for a few days while traveling with Vilja. One morning I came home just in time to see him wake up and loot every book in my house.

I experimented by adding more books and he kept stealing until he couldn't walk and then kept stealing more but did eventually seem satisfied that he had enough. Eventually I found what's making him do that and Vilja would have the same problem if I let her wander at the right times. As long as she's following or the player isn't in the same cell the bad AI won't kick into play, but if she's wandering in the same cell she will steal.

For Dublin it's a combination of his low Responsibility score (which keeps him from reporting any player crimes) and a strange (to me) property of the UseItemAt package.

Vilja, Dublin, and most other companions I've seen have a "Read" UseItemAt AI package that Targets a generic book with a count of 1000. That doesn't seem to mean "read a book" but instead it's a "try to find 1000 books then read one" looting package. If there are unowned books Dublin will just walk over and pick them up. If there are owned books (player or NPC) he'll sneak over and pick them up. He only reads a book he already has if there aren't any more books nearby or he already has 1000 in inventory!

The simple fix is to change the Target Count value in all of the "Read" AI packages from 1000 to 1.

Update: I just checked this with Vilja and couldn't trigger her to steal my books so maybe I was wrong about her. But I am sure about Dublin because changing the Count value put an end to his life of petty crime.
