Well, I'm not the most attuned in the lore of skyrim so don't get annoyed if i may mess up some thing.

But here i go!

The great war was between the aldmeri dominion and the empire.

After the great war there was this treaty banning the worship of talos completely. All worshippers would be imprisoned, And who knows? Maybe even enslaved judging from the thalmor's moral views...

Well we do know elenwen oversees the thalmor's operations etc. (Diplomatic Immunity)

But what i want to start this off is, Why do the elves want to rid skyrim or tamriel from all man.

I don't know much about this but i do know is that the thalmor's intentions are clear.

Their plan broken down is:

1. Ban Worship Of Talos (Failing miserably)

2. Slowly break down the empire and take over tamriel. (Not Even Started)

3. Rid tamriel of all man, and from the plane of possibility. (This cannot possibly go wrong...)

4. Control Tamriel (Possibility of this even happening are maybe 1 in 100000)

5. Elves rule, No man. (This is not even in the plane of possibility haha)

Even though they've banned worship of talos, It's not stopping the nords and any other races from worshipping him, This is why i think that the thalmor will be long dead by the time they even start thinking about step 3 or 2.

We know delphine thinks the thalmor are behind the dragons because skyrim is weakened and the empire is weakened, Who else has to gain from that but the thalmor?

It's later revealed that they know nothing about it.

So with what i have explained, What do you think about this? Will they fail miserably, Will they succeed, Will they be long dead or extinct by then? What do you think?

Thanks for reading!

The Thalmor will win. Eventually. That is an indisputable fact. They seek to undo creation and, essentially, destroy the world. MK and Kurt have both said that they will eventually win. Whether or not any of them are still alive to see the world end is another issue altogether.

I woulnd't call it a win if they're not around anymore, because that would mean they won't be able to reassume their precious godhood.

But please help me there, I still don't understand that 5th era stuff (Kirkbride's a pain in the ass to read): Are Thalmor still a ruling faction?

If the stormcloaks and empire we're to sign a peace treaty sometime in the next era after this civil war to fight the thalmor, Maybe there'll be like a new empire and the stormcloaks need to ally to fight off the thalmor as the common enemy, such as the dragons?

Well, i suppose the idea of 'winning' is open to interpretation. Their goals will be achieved, whether they achieve them or someone else does...

As for the 5th Era... That's weird. Something about the Numidium returning, killing a bunch of gods and ripping Nirn a new one. Interestingly, according to C0DA, man is extinct, though the Tal-OS still exists as a god-robot.

Personally, while i like the depth a lot of Kirkbride's stuff adds to the game, i'm increasingly of the mind that its safe to ignore anything set in the future. All the 5th Era stuff can just be tucked away with the hope that Bethesda never gets that crazy. Nu-Mantia, Shor son of Shor and such, those are all really good.

Yeah, i really am looking forward to TES6 if there will be one.

Too bad ESO isn't free yet, I mean seriously online usually means free to play lol.

But i really like the idea fight against the thalmor, Maybe in TES6 There'll be like a resistance and the thalmor have taken over and it'll be like a side civil war like in TESV!
