In response to post #19290049.

#1: There isn't really a short answer to this... because there isn't really a process exactly lol. For some reason Bethesda leaves a lot of the crap outside unowned. So when I had started doing the towns, I left it all unowned, to stay in line with what they'd done. Figuring it would be weirder that new NPCs stuff had ownership and vanilla NPCs didn't... but then I changed my mind and started making the new NPCs stuff owned, and then I further changed my mind and started making the vanilla NPCs stuff owned and so now what you have is kind of a mix. Towns I've gone back through and set ownership flags on stuff and towns I haven't gotten to yet lol.

Eventually all the stuff will be owned.

#2: ETaC does actually add more guards. To really all of the minor holds (Falkreath, Winterhold, Morthal, Dawnstar) and also to places that I added guard towers or additional fortifications to (like Dragon Bridge), but I tried to be mindful of that there also exist other mods that do that, and the more NPCs you have (particularly in exterior cells) the more resource-demanding the towns become.

It's probably worth noting, that if you use a separate mod for this - you'll also get guards in more than just the towns that ETaC modifies. (So also the cities and other outlying settlements ETaC hasn't done yet.)

#3: Same as above. ETaC does add more animals, but you'll only get them in ETaC modified towns, so again, it's probably best to also grab an animal mod.

Hope this helps! :)

The issue with breaking up the towns is that the thing making your downloads so big isn't actually the .esp files. It's the .bsa and .esm files. They're massive, and every single town needs them. So even if I split them, you'd just have 10 large files vs. 1 massive file, and you'd end up having to download those two multiple times, which would actually make your total download time longer.

In the past, I'd tried separating that out completely but then a whole ton of people never bothered to download it at all, and then would freak out ala "My game is crashing! My textures are missing! I've got no meshes!" and I'd have to spend 5 hours a day explaining to everyone exactly what they needed to download and it was entirely more work than it was worth. With the installer I can just GIVE you the files you need without any further intervention needed on your part.

BUT! That said, I've recently switched to using 7z for compressing said files (as a user had recommended) and it's made a huge difference. I haven't uploaded the towns with it yet, but it cut the size of the newest patches build down to a fourth of what it previously was. So going forward they should be a little more manageable.

As for the animal bit.....I hadn't gotten to Whiterun yet!  Wow, those are farms!  :-)  I also am running Skytest Realistic Animals, which adds a few farm animals, but I can definitely see that you have really fleshed the farms out. :-)

Thank you the explanation. Sorry for bother you, I dont know that.
Yes, you are true, it is not worth If you spend your time to answer stupid questions (like my one :)), because some people cant read, just download one file. It is more important to spend that time to improve the mod itself.
To change the compression to 7z is great, that is necessary especially with big mods, like this. Thank you for this.

You never have to apologize for having questions :) It's no bother at all. This is a big mod, with a ton of patches and working parts, questions are par for the course.

Hello Jenna
First of all thank you for your hard work and for taking care of IS.
You definitely add something to the game and that's great.
I almost feel ashamed to ask you the opposite:
I've notice that you are already marking 'owned' all the free food around villages
BUT
Can you [please please, say you do :) ] consider
a) making a YOU HUNGER patch; or
b) removing most of the food?

Thanks in advance, you deserve all the wine in the world :)

I had though, although I guess I could be wrong, that somebody else has already made a You Hunger patch... have you tried doing a Nexus and/or Google search to see if anything turns up?

I'll also take a look and see if I can track it down because I'm fairly certainly I recall somebody else telling me about it one time lol.

Post-Edit: Yep, found the link on You Hunger's page... HERE. Merry Christmas!

Guess I could have been more informative but I've indeed done that search, actually tried in game and looked at xEdit and CK.
My test ended always in front of Riverwood Trader and the cart full of cabbages.
The cabbages (not owned) are always there. With or without the patch.
Unfortunately my CK always reports a butch of error and it's not practical disable food in xEdit.

I've checked again and this time I actually entered RiverTrader and there was missing food as intended.
Maybe the patch it's a bit outdated but it will have to do until someone update another one or I learn how to do it.
In fact there's no need to remove all the food. A few could be flagged owned instead.

I guess there aren't many people using You Hunger but it's so god damm immersive.
And with the upcoming kKryptopyr's Alchemy and Food Overhaul maybe this mod get the love it deserves.

Thanks for caring enouth to reply. Love you! You deserve lots and lots of wine :)

Am I missing something, or are there no ovens anywhere?  I've been to Riverwood and Whiterun so far and no ovens anywhere.  Does ETaC not use Hearthfire resources?

In response to post #19597754.

ETaC does not use Hearthfire resources, because if it did, ETaC would be Hearthfires dependent, meaning people could only use it if they have Hearthfires installed. Which I generally like to avoid.

That said, I do somebody plan on getting a patch out, as an optional add on for people that ARE using Heathfires, I just am not sure I can promise when that will be lol.

So no, currently there are no ovens. Plenty of cooking pots though! Hooray soup!?
