It's randomized. Sometimes you get an armor, sometimes you don't. Sometimes they take your stuff, sometimes they just leave you for dead.

I understood what you told me about the loading I went to fast travel to another city and it worked. I had to make him essential for the "no regen" problem and it look like i made a bad UFO reinstallation. The reset health was a failed clean save I should have uncheck UFO an DA before cleaning.

Hey, I just updated from 4.5.1 to 6.0 (followed the correct way on the mod page) and installed the official addon. Got myself caught by a vampire master and after a while some dawnguard folk rescued me. However it has been 2-3 days ingame and the 'near-death' debuff is still on my character. Shouldn't that be gone by now?

It should. I'm not sure how you did the update or if something could have not been registered. That's a pretty big jump in version, one should do a clean save and remove all remaining script with a save tool in such a case. Anyway, there is a debug option to reset all effect. This should be the first stop for any potential issue.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah, a big jump, however as I stated, I did the necessary steps for the update (save, deactivate, clean the save, save again, install new version). I will check out the debug options tomorrow (didn't really want to mess with it without feedback) and I'll keep you posted.

Okay, I fired up the game and used the debug menu, however there seem to be some complications. The widget is not showing up (although it works as far as I can tell), and I can take the near-death debuff off of me, but the bleedout state remains even after that (weird).
To test out wether I botched something during the mod installation I created a fresh new char and got myself killed (almost) and as far as I can tell, it works okay.
So the conclusion is the old character must be bugged some way or another, even though I tried to clean out the loose scripts.

I thought this mod looked really interesting. However when I have the captured addon installed the game crashes the moment it gets to the main menu. What could be possible causes to this error?

Hello, I LOVE the idea of this mod and it's exactly what I wanted to remove the save-reload immersion breaking issue. However, I can't get it to work consistently. It's worked a few times, but even reloading and doing the same thing with the same settings rarely works twice. I've tried with different settings, essential on and off, the Survival addon installed and not, clean saves, everything.

Here's the most common sequence of events right now (with the Survival addon installed):

I die.
The vanilla death sound/music (that background rumble noise) starts as I either ragdoll or go to my knees.
The popup tells me I'm bleeding out, then the next tells me I'm blacking out (Since I have Survival on, it skips bleedout).
The screen fades to black as the enemies start ignoring me.
The screen fades in and tells me I still have life left in me, or that I've been rescued. In the latter case, I can usually see the new NPC near me, so that bit is working.
Even though my health comes back up slightly, I cannot move, my guy never gets up, I can't move the camera (or can move it up and down only, if in the kneeling stance), I can't open the menu, I can't save, and resetting my state and status effects from the MCM menu doesn't help (but it does refill my health.

As far as I can tell, everything is working fine, except that I'm dying vanilla style when killed, before the rest of the mod kicks in. My current settings are default with the difficulty to None and the bleedout multiplayer to 1.5 (for Survival).

I shouldn't have any mods that conflict with this, but I am using SkyTweak to set my health regen to just above zero, and my magicka regen to much lower than normal. Could that have something to do with it? I also have Alternate Actors installed, but I haven't used anything from it in this case, and I'm assuming the incompatibility has to do with it's own features for dying while controlling an NPC, right?

Can anyone give me any advice for this? I want so badly for this mod to work, it's perfect for my playstyle, but it's causing me no end of frustration. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I can provide my mod list if needed. Also, does toggling the OnDeath event " Death Alternate Death" (I think that was the name) have any major effect? I tried it to prevent my character dying like this but it didn't do anything I could see.

One more thing that may be involved: I noticed that when Survival is not installed, if I check the MCM menu after going into bleedout, I am no longer set to essential, which I confirmed in the console. For some reason my essential status is removed as I go into bleedout. Could this be related?



EDIT 2:

I just started a new character. At first, dying caused me to die as in vanilla normally, even though the message boxes popped up, and the game reloaded shortly after. The MCM menu said I was essential, but I toggled essential off and back on to make sure. Now, when I die, I go to one knee, the message boxes and fadeout/in occur, but then the game reloads anyway. I can't tell if my character would get back up or not because the game reloads too quickly. This whole thing is just baffling me now, it's never acting the same way twice.

Seconding this, I'm having the same problem. Don't just say "fixed" on a help thread online without explaining how, it just drives other people with the same issue nuts! Trust me, I know from experience.
