This looks like a great idea for a mod!
I'll be eager to try it out on a new character after your next version with your "'mage-version' of all the dialogue and gameplay" as you mentioned.

I love this! Thanks for your work.
I'm a little daft with computers, so I'd probably never be able to pull it off, but if you're taking sugestions -
Would it be possible to add Archery talents to a Dalish mage?
Arcane warrior spec would work I guess, but archery is just silly without it's talents.

i wonder if there is some way to control what the npc's see you as, like a variable or hex value that can be changed to make the npc's all think you're a warrior or a rogue, then a lot of the immersion breaking bugs such as in the circle tower would be fixed at once.
i have no idea how to go about looking for this and changing it though.

This is handled in the conversations themselves; I had to do a bunch of plot changes in conversations for my Tevinter Warden class mod, so that a Magi Origin Tevinter Warden would be remembered by the Circle and Templars. Those changes would likely help with this mod's similar issue for the Dalish Mage.

hi maker
Great idea to make a mage inside the dalish for your player to start in.
I do hope you can make some old spells kinda like change into a squirrel or some other dalish spells like morrigan can do,then it will be perfect, aswell what i've read here from someone like you become an aprentice as merril is aswell.
And perhaps if this isn't to though to do aswell, make templars see you as an apostate aswell or malificar like morrigan because we didn't joined the circle of magi.
thx and good luck making it happen and greetings from

I've got this bookmarked in case it's ever completed.
As for the human commoner, I heard it'd been considered but then reconsidered because it would likely be too similar to the city elf and dwarf commoner. On the Bioware forums I saw a post looking for ideas for a modded human commoner, though. They'd suggested that you play as a city watch/sheriff type, maybe even the one who apprehended Daveth before Duncan got to him. Play as a by the books good cop or a corrupt bad cop sorta thing. I think it died though.

Downloading now...
I really like this idea...
It always seemed odd that in spite of the tons of lore to support non-circle mages, that we would be forced to be a circle mage just to play that class...
As for the "circle mage" treatment... I can live with that... since most mages are circle mages (according to the lore) its reasonable that most people would assume you were a circle mage.
Good work...
now if only someone could work out how to make an entirely new origin for Maleficar.

Great mod! T-up! Hahah this mod would be absolutely awesome if some1 could put the Keeper spec into Origins xD Probably impossible but would be awesome. Or that he grants Keeper spec in Awakening without buying manual xDDD But yeah GREAT mod! KUTGW
E: Found 1 thing! When u are in lower Levels in Brecilian Ruins and meet the Phycalarty (spell?) that gives Arcane Warrior Spec he says "U are not a mage but u could theach to those who are" Nothing direct spelldestroying since u can get the spec anyway. Just a little thing for us who want it fully real or what u shall say xD

When I begin a new game my dalish mage can't use item with the restriction "mage", so no staves, no mage robe and lyrium potions.
Why?
Why?
